2 - O away from home Bolton down to 10 men should have gone 442 instead he leaves jerome on  and and and cant belive he brings FAHEY on SAYS IT ALL DOSENT IT

DERBYSHIRE gets 20 mins the man has no idea

simples

He did go 4-4-2 but the problem was on the pitch, not the manager. We looked like we could almost score at will if we bothered to attack. It was no surprise that it was Mcleish who was the one raging up and down the touchline at the players not Coyle even when we were two up. I also can't see how you can blame McLeish for some very poor referreing that favoured Bolton.

We did what we did against Rochdale, got ahead and stopped playing, I hope McLeish gives the players the rollocking they deserve.

I agree so much with this especially the part I have highlighted.

If we had a bit of adventure we could and should have tested their rookie goalkeeper. Look how much joy we had going forward in the closing stages of the game. We could have least stung his hands with a few shots.

Yawning gulf between midfield and Jerome. Loads of space for 10 man Bolton to start moves in. Defence showing signs of misunderstanding or complacency. Harsh - unwarranted? - decisions by ref on free-kicks. Kevin Davies a master at provoking free-kicks - and Jerome badly needs some firepower along side him.

Things looked desperate when Blues hoofed hopeful long-balls giving Bolton the chance to come back at them. Major difference when, for a couple of periods late on, they resorted to passing and possession football. Bolton couldn't get in, and therefore
couldn't sneak another goal. Passing and possession - nullifies so many oppositions.

The ref cost us that match not AM , yes it was a penalty but the free kick for the equaliser , BF gets sandwiched between two players and the ref gives it to bolton

Anyway I'm happy with the point.

No way was it a penalty, if that is a pen then every challenge in the area would be pens.....never ever a pen.

It was , RJ's arm was on his shoulder and Davis knew what to do.

He did make more of it though.

Jesus Christ.

I love how 4-4-2 is some sort of magical formation in some "expert fans" eyes... yet they then go and omit the fact we went 4-4-2 and fell apart today!

I play centre half, it was just a poorly timed jump by RJ. If you jump too soon and lean on the man like he did then it's a free/peno all day long.

Whatever Davies made of it is irrelevant.

We should learn to take our oil.

Oh, and to stop giving away stupid *****ng penalties.

At 2-0 and playing against ten men we should have stepped up a gear and asserted our authority. That we didn't was down to instructions from the manager or the captain. Which one was it?

The title alone had all the ingredients of another fascinating and spine tingling post from Lowhdam :fishing:

I'm a tad disappointed now

Agree with West Heath though.....as much as I hold Alex McLeish in very high regard and give him the utmost respect I am occassionally bewildered by his decisions

Michel was sought after by the club for months and months and was supposed to be the new 'passmaker outlet' for the side......Come on Eck, start playing him For God's Sake if we paid 3 million for the guy....he must be match fit by now.....he's been over here 8 months now, if he ain't fit by now then something is wrong with that....or our training methods

McFadden we all know posseses great individiual abilty but again he comes up with a below par performance at The Reebok......His crosses were appaling and he lost the ball time and time again, one time on the edge of our own box, after trying to beat one player too many (let's be blunt, he does lack the pace to do it effectively) and if he was in fact carrying a groin injury he should not have even be in the squad.....Young Redmond deserved a shot on the left wing after a fine display v Rochdale....what have we got to lose in a Prem match where we can bring on three new faces anyway if it doesn't work out for the lad .....And cannot understand why they put Carr on pain killers to play a match.....Craig Gardner is a more than adequate right back

Zigic should have started today because Bolton have a very tall and physical back four

And Derbyshire should have been given more time in place of Jerome who was very ineffective and missed a golden chance to regain the lead for us

And Fahey ?? ........Got to say the lad needs a rest....Clearly out of form right now

I still trust in Big Eck though and am getting excited over the new players I expect to see come in by Wednesday **thumbup

Away from home coasting against 10 men,we were doing every thing right, then we change things, why,we dropped so deep it invitited Bolton to come at us,Zigic could have come on to work those centre halves, keep them on their toes, dont really blame the manager for this one,
The players should know how to deal with games like this.

Why don't just get behind your team instead of moaning.  Its people like you who are destroying blues.

Why? he is entitled to his opinion.

Who made you judge and jury eh?

Why if a Blunose is disapointed with a performance are they labelled a moaner by someone like you?

I am Pro McCliesh but some of his decisions are questionable.

Fahey??????? why does he persist with this man.

Car playing with a broken toe?

McFadden why did take him off?

I don't know if you noticed but we blew a 2-0 lead against 10 men Jerome cannot recieve the ball into feet, on his chest or win it in the air, his effort level needs to be that of Craig Gardner. Today people are going to quite rightly have a moan Now pipe down with your orders.

Good lad**thumbup

just to answer those points in order.

1. Fahey, tell me who else on the bench he should have used...? apart from one early mistake when he got caught out at left back he did ok. nearly grabbed a goal too, although his shot was pulled wide - got into good space though.

2. and...? again he did ok apart from when he got caught once in the first half. he got done twice, if memory serves... i didn't notice he had a broken toe - he played as normal for the team... who else would you have used?

3. as mentioned already he had a groin strain... he pulled up with it in the first half, someone said it was a hangover from Rochdale.

as for your comments on Jerome - wasteful and lazy today - had a great chance to win the game but couldn't put away his 1-on-1 against a stand-in keeper!!

and again Cameron receives no praise for his two assists, the second of which was ridiculously selfless. He puts the team ahead of personal glories and lead the line well yesterday I thought. If he'd have finished his chance, it would have been an all-round brilliant performance from him.

I agree, he should have buried it - but to slate him like that after all he done during the game, I think, is bang out of order.

Oh my God McFadden came off because his groin was playing him up.

Fahey replaced Larson because he got injured.

We went 4-4-2 there was nothing wrong with McLeish's tactics.

The ref almost lost control of the game goving fouls where they where not required and not giving them when real foul occurred. Many of the fouls were manufactured with the players manipulating the ref who clearly was having a bad game and not carrying the respect of the players.

The players should be disappointed with themselves giving the ball away far too heaply in the second half and not allowing the extra man to count.

Having said this I would have taken a point before the game.

were you there...? i ask that simply because i was and believe me he didn't do a lot... you call the second ridiculously selfless, i call it one hungry for a goal player getting in and making sure over another, not so hungry to make sure, player.

and if you were there you will see how he continuously failed to use the acres of space in behind the defence in the 2nd half - something i would have thought a natural part of his game, given his pace and strength!

the ball to Larsson was always on, the ball to Jerome wasn't available. there was one chance in particular when we were on the attack but instead of creating space up top he kept coming deeper and deeper for the ball and shut the space off...

sorry i know we have a difference of opinion but sometimes you just have to admit when a player has a poor game. he had a chance to shut all of his critics up but he didn't take it, if he had done we wouldn't be having this conversation now!

The ref was useless from the start, even before he gifted Bolton the 2 goals.

He was whistle happy from the first minute, sending their keeper off Ultimatley back fired on us as we were in control of the game before that incident..Once their keeper was sent off and Coyle had words with him he went on to to make sure Bolton got a point..

It amazes me why we have so many poor refs refeering in the premier league..

As I said in another post, Ref 2 Blues 2.

Can the thread title and other similar phrases like 'tactically inept' be placed on the swear filter so it changes to something else like 'sheeite tictacs'

I mean 'inept'? Do people actually say that word?? Or is it just an internet phenomenon.

Lowdham's second favourite word - when applied to McLeish. He's been using it for 2 years.
