I honestly think that the only new faces that will arrive tomorrow IF there are any at all will be a couple of Premiership loans. These 9 m pound player deals take days if not weeks so it is not gonna happen. Let's just hope that there is excitement in the loan deals.

Indeed it could - I would be happy with that.

We are too ready to accept second best all the time imo. A couple of last minute plan z loans is not the way to move a club forwards.

Bendnter, Duggary, Larsson, Hart, Forsell.

Yeah, loan players are always utter bobbins.

it does if you have a plan B. the trouble is that once again we do not have a plan B in place...

Where's bendtner now? Back at his club
Wheres joe hart now? Back at his club
We only got forssell because of everton pulling out of the transfer and he was a massive injury risk. And lets not forget, not really much good after that 1 season.

Dugarry, yes. A master stroke by brucey but it was all over in a flash.

So if you can tell me which of these deals was of any substantial benefit to blues for the long term then fair enough.

We need to be looking ahead 5 years in terms of transfers, not 5 months.

We need to be ensureing our survival for another season, and loan signings are a great way of helping to do that.

So not all loan signings stay, or even work out. Is that a good enough reason not to bother with them?

i just know that McLeish and the board will try as hard as they can to find some good players and try and get them in.

I know theres a lot of negativity banded around towards the board, or manager or whoever, but I respect the fact they have our best interests at heart, and I trust them to find the right players... I expect a lot of movement over the last two days full stop, not just Blues, but everyone... when people start moving, and replacing other players elsewhere, then we may capitalise on someone :)

Ala Fabiano to Spurs, Keane to us ?

etc.

I know it was just an example but apparently Fabiano has signed a contract extension at Sevilla, so we'd probably need to rely on Spurs getting someone else up front.

Big Eck has all but ruled out any big money signings boys...i think you'll be disappointed.

McLeish added: “We are working on one or two things. But it’s going to be difficult to get another £9 million player, someone of that calibre, at this stage.

(from todays Mail)

I wish he had said that from the start. We either dont have the money, or credentials as a club to sign these players. Thats why it rarely happens.

The signing of dugarry seems like a miracle...

Or perhaps it's because the deadline is tomorrow and big deals like that can't be done in one day.

Yeah that come out a few hours after I posted :(

According to West Ham fans I know, they will be in for Keane if Carlton Cole goes to Liverpool.

Personally was not that excited about the "Zog on the Tyne", but the prospect of Armand Traore and Aleksander Hleb has got my juices flowwing and they together (no confirmation of loans yet) would definately make up for the last few weeks!

let's not get too carried away... these signings (if they happen and there's nothing reliable linking Hleb to us) would be loan signings and not permanent deals.

season after season we've bought in loan players only to watch them disappear into the distance once their loan period is over. the team/squad needs investment both short and long term and until we get that no amount of loan signings will make much difference really.

i meant if they were loans with a view to buy(or at least troare to buy & hleb 1 season loan), obviously if they both just 1 season loans i would rather we sign n'zogbia on a 5 year deal

Isn't it interesting how different people see different things, because I thought he was one of the highlights of that season, and I was gutted when he was sold.

Personally I'd have him back in an instant, certainly as a replacement for Ferguson.

Second best is better than an empty dressing room. We're not the only club to miss out on players and as long as we keep reaching for players just on the tip of our grasp, eventually one or two will come and our reach will increase.
