Moving house in a week or so's time and considering leaving SKY and looking at the other options. We will be in an Infinity area for BT but we aren't in a Virgin fibre optic area.

Which is best? I like the option of being able to cancel sky sports during the summer months when i hardly watch it but I'm not sure if losing some of the SKY channels such as SKY 1 & 2 is something I want to give up. I hate SKY and think that I have far too many channels that I don't and never will watch. I know nothing about Virgin media but the fact that I can't get fibre optic does annoy me slightly, especially as the cables are in the ground for BT.

Sorry, can't really help you mate, but remember reading a thread on here about BT Vision a while back, when they announced their £6.99 Sports packages.

Someone posed the question if SKY could they move the footie off SSPs 1 & 2 on top SSP3, which was never really answered. That sort of put me off, but they might not be within their rights to do it anyway.

I have Virgin Media and have the XL package with the virgin + box which lets you record up to 80 hours on the hard drive.

Its ok but i have never had sky so cannot give you both sides.

sometimes the box will reboot itself for no reason and when you decide to cancel a series record it will carry on!

freezes sometimes but all in all its ok

Never had virgin , but I did have bt vision for an hour, every decent program you want to watch you have to pay for even kids programs , you will have to pay espn now.

I had to pay £14 permonth for freeview.

If we had payed for every program we watched on sky we would have been about £20 permonth worse off.
