I'd take a draw now.
If Young and Downing are hungover, we have a chance!

Had a premonition, Clouseau's eyes were bulging and he was ranting in post match interview about an injustice!!

Blues to win 3 - 1

First being a disputed penalty ;)

P.S You heard it here first!!

we could do with an away win, and it's about time we did the scummers. we'll also go above them with a win, so i'm going for the away win here.

craig gardner, injury time winner :)

Last season we took the game to them and should have won (or at least gained a draw) but due to the diving antics of our rivals, we were denied both.

I am hoping for more of the same mentality on Sunday.

You want to see more diving from the villa ?

:LMAO:

According to some sources our 6 fingered neighbours looked a little suspect through the middle against Sunderland......this from a few sunderland and V..V...Vi...(still can't bring myself to type it but you know who I mean!) fans, so I'd go with the following formation:

back 4 takes care of itself:

Larrson Gardner Ferguson Hleb Fahey/Murphy

Zigic

Larrson will have to play a more defense minded game as will Fahey (that's why I've also put Murphy in that position), what we want to do is force their wide players inside so the central midfield becomes congested and their attacks either break down and we pick it up or the ball goes back and is punted long (my money would be on Dann and Johnston to take care of Heskey together in the air). If we can break up their attacks and come away with the ball you're looking for either Gardner or Hleb to be picking up the knockbacks from Zigic, if they're clever enough and keep swapping the left and right inside channels between themselves....this will pull their central midfielders around and, hopefully, lead to them losing their shape whilst giving us a cutting edge in and around their box with Gardner and Hleb......add the two full backs getting involved on the flanks and I think we would eventually have their wide players playing more defensively in their own half.

The secret will be to making sure we keep Heskey quiet and unable to get good contact on any long balls, then make sure that Young and Albrighton aren't given the space and are forced to push inside to go looking for the ball.......their game is based on giving the wide players the space to run at the defence, stop this and you nullify their game!

If this works we could be 2-0 up by half time and if we are I'd then go 442 because they will have to as well and this would give Jerrome a chance to run at an already tired Dunne and Cuelar! Only go 442 though when they do as a change to their formation could leave ferguson exposed as the only holding central midfielder!

Whilst a derby can be a bit of a lottery I think we could come away with something and I'd be happy with a draw there........but hoping we can nick it.
