14 cards in the world cup final

And every one correct, top ref.

not every single one...a top ref would have controlled the players and not let it get so out of hand

Thats well wide of the mark IMO.

Howard Webb is our top referee, and controlled the World Cup final aswell as anybody could when you had Holland playing such anti-football, and basically kicking the Spaniard's off the pitch.

The only thing different he shouldve done (other than send De Jong off) was perhaps book a couple of players earlier on for a couple of the early bad fouls, as opposed to just warning them, as they then got out of hand and took advantage!

Webb's main problem in general though is his uncertainty to give penalty decisions, unless he is 100% sure on them, meaning that he may well miss a penalty decision Sunday if one comes about, but all in all im happy with the appointment of him as referee, Blues v Villa games need a strong referee, with experience..

If only last season at villa park we had a ref who thought carefully about a penalty decision, and only made it when he's 100% sure.......

we'd have either got a deserved 0-0 draw or possibly nicked a 1-0 win.
