Im gonna put it out there, I am not condoning behaviour of any sort, but I do know for sure, that the reputation that this club holds when it comes to fighting before and after games, has probably kept many people safe when visiting away games.

Its okay for people to outright condemn the people who go to games and fight or whatever, but for the original poster, if you was cornered outside an away stadium, take Villa Park for instance, and you and your son was cornered by a group of Villa lads looking to hurt someone, would you still want every one of those Bluenose 'yobs' banged up then? Cause I can guarantee you would quite openly welcome those lads in that situation to help you out mate.

Not saying its right for these lads to go and fight, im not saying its wrong, but what I am saying, is that every club has a section of fans (And yes they are fans, no matter how much you try and tell yourself, or other people that they dont belong to the Bluenose family) that organise fights before or after a game, but more-so than not, you will only get caught up in a fight if you go looking for one.

I cant envisage a situation where you and your son would ever be picked out for trouble if you was just keeping your head down and going to your car.. But i know there are some people about that would still maybe start something.. But I think some people should try and keep things in perspective.. Whilst there are these people who would attack you for wearing a Blues scarf, no matter what your motives were, I dont think these guys should be put into the same box as a group of lads by a burger van, shouting abit of abuse at the away fans.

Lukey, they are all thugs no matter what club they come from and I can tell you from personal experiense over many years they are 99% cowards who would cry for their mummy if you got them own their own, they do make me laugh though giving it big with abuse and hand gestures while hiding behind bigger lads in front but will run like scared bunnies if you say boooo, nahh most of them are pathetic little weeds that follow like sheep and do not have the brains to act like normal kids enjoying a game of football....sad.

another reasoned post from a qualified psychologist...this country lost millions of so called sheep wearing uniforms following the ill thought out battle plans of the so called educated upper class that run this country.Stick to imagining you are a better manager than Alex Mcleish...Life will sort out where these young lads end up..they will make their choices for themselves not you me or anyone else...3yr bans, life bans or even jail awaits them if they carry on but the choice is theirs..Drink Driving is a far more serious problem, but if you are caught the bans are 6,12 or maybe 18mths try scaling that one out in the clever brains amongst you

Like or not, understand it or not fighting at football happens.

Most of the time it happens between like minded blokes who have no interest in Barmies and would probably ignore them.
Believe it or not there is an unwritten rule that bullying normal fans is a no no and if it happens the offenders are dealt with by their own Lads.

People would be surprised to see the kind of people who are drawn in to this world and live for it.

I know quite a few "Firm" from Blues & Villa and Most of them are successful & have normal family lives. Many run their own businesses.

And trust me Bumble they are no shrinking violets when it comes to it you are clueless when comes to trying to understand this. Saying that they are on benifits & cowards and run to thier mummy is generalising to say the least.

To say that they are not real Blues fans is technically wrong but in a moral way probably truthful depending on your perespective.

I would prefer to stand / sit / drink / socialise with many of them than todays modern day johnny come lately premier league Blues fans.

so telling other posters to sod right off is ok then ?

Point to where I said that.

I said that anyone who thinks that violence towards opposition fans is part of the game can sod right off.

Unless you think its acceptable and a rightful part of the sport to smack someone in the face?

Again, I'm not sure what are you reading, but its sure as hell not what I'm posting.

I'll put it as simply as I know how.

If. you. think. that. having. a. fight. is. part. of. football., you. can. sod. off.

Simple enough?

If you disagree, I'd love to hear your justification, and then we can all decide who's qualified to have an opinion or not.

Having a fight or not having a fight is part of life...part of the human make up its what keeps us alive...

Its referred to as the fight or flight response have a read up it may enlighten some..

Do i accept that fighting is part of football yes...Do i accept that fighting is part of life yes...Im not sure what other way to answer the question...perhaps we could put everyone on HRT patches to curb their behaviour,or better still lets control peoples thought processes as they are mindless in the first place.

Its not justification...just understanding

those kids that was trying to cause truble are probly the same kids that go round steeling old ladys handbags getting drunk up ur street n fighting out side ur house at 3 in the morning on a week night and go smashing ur car up belive it or not i see it every day day in day out especially around my area.

at the end of the day they should not be causing truble at a blues match or eny football match they should learn to respct ppl this country is going down hill because young ppl have having children who dont no how to look after them properly, they have no rules when going out so they do what they want, get board cause truble and it needs to be sorted out.

Utter flipping bilge.

Fight or flight is in response to a threatening scenario, and has absolutely nothing to do with goading rival football fans into violent retaliation, or meeting up to smack seven shades out of someone in a misplaced sense of tribal pride.

No-one here is talking about the actions taken when presented by a threatening scenario, but those that would use our clubs name and identity to provoke that scenario.

And that situation shouldn't happen in football. Ever.

There is no need for fans to feel the need to support their club by threatening, either physically or verbally, rival fans. Sure, we'll throw banter their way during the game, but once we walk through the gates it should stop.

Its called behaving like a civilised, decent, human being. Its what most people manage to do on a daily basis, even at the football.

I think it's quite natural for young lads to fight, it makes them men.

In football violence it's a code , you only fight those that want it, you don't attack the fan and I've been to many a game and seen it kick off to know that is what does happen.

I know quite a few of the old lot and I knowfor a fact their no cowards, I would rather be with these people than all these wishy washy liberals that have read papers and seen Danny dyers football factories and think there all cowards.

Once more, utter flipping bilge. Of the highest order.

Outside of the playground, I've not once been involved in a fight of any sort. By that measure I'm not a man?

Except I haven't.

Unless, of course, you think its acceptable for football fans to want to and actively participate in battering the hell of one another, and then you can sod off, because that is the behaviour of the neaderthal, the socially maladjusted, and intellectually stunted.

I don't care if these people are doctors, lawyers, binmen or criminals. I don't care if they are wonderful parents, charity workers or saints in every other part of their lives, if they want to bring violence into football I don't want them anywhere near my club.

You can call me liberal, you can call me hippy, you can call me soft and you can call me a doo-gooder, I don't give a stuff.

I'm a civilised human being who thinks that violence and sport shouldn't ever mix. Ever.

And if you have an issue with my opinion, tough. I'm in the right here, and anyone who thinks differently is in the wrong. I'll quite happily stand up here on the moral high ground spouting my opinion until this abhorant opinion that "having a punch up is all part of the game" is eradicated. In this matter, I have the backing of the club themselves, the people who run the game, the people who police the game, the government (all governments) and the vast majority of decent people who go to football up and down the country who've had enough.

believe what you want its ok by me...i dont need to mention names
just as some former players at the club have been involved but again im just making that up as well

Boxing is deemed as a wholly respectable sport but adds up to no more than 2 opponents having a fight...in a controlled situation.Kickboxing again is licensed but adds up to nothing more than the same but more street like.

Im sure you will justify Boxing quite easily...im not trying to justify why lads get involved in football related disorder i just have an understanding
