Last night eck wanted to keep michel on but had to take him off to bring fergie on at michels request.

This shows that while they might keep fit to a degree, they are not getting 100% match fit not playing.

stephen carr, scott dann and liam ridgewell all played every game this season yet still had enough in the tank to do the full game and extrs time, michel didnt, and carr was bombing up and down the line still into inury time.

I know fergie has been brilliant again this seaosn but eck needs to find a way to give michel game time otherwise if he is needed (a ferige inury etc) he is not going to be upto it game in, game out

I'd love to see him get more game time but as Eck has said, Ferguson has been immense so he hasn't had a look in. What's the option? Send him on loan? Wait until we're beating Vile 5 - 0 with 20 mins to go and put him on?

I dont now...but at the same time something is amiss if players who have played every league game can then put in 120 mins yet michel is hanging at the end of 90.

Eck says in training they can stimulate the real game enviroment for fitness etc...but it appears from last night that they cant

To be honest its obvious that players who are pretty much ever present this season will have more in the tank than michel. You can't do anything about it unless he goes on loan, nothing replicates first team games, I know because I play at a decent level myself and if you miss some games you notice.

but eck says he can replicate it in training, what im saying is you obviously cant and if he thinks you can then he is going to find a lot of 'squad players' are below par in terms of his expectations of their fitness

I thought he did ok last night

But the passing of Ferguson when he came on was much quicker and we looked a better team for it

Personally i dont see the point in playing foreign players like vallez and Micheal against league one teams like mk dons, rochdale and brentford, thell just get tackled out of the game, out muscled.

i don't rate michel at all, last night was the best game i have seen him have but was still very mediocre, when ferguson came on he's passing was so much faster and shaper than michel's.

For a Spanish midfielder, he gets well stuck in!

I was impressed with him last night, comfy on the ball, gets back and helps tackle and block at the back.

The only criticism I have is that sometimes he would rather do the slow-motion 'purely for the camera' long-ball, rather than an ugly spray across the park..

If he can get match-fit and up the tempo then he would be class, everyone saw the through-ball for Jeromes goal at Sunderland last season, he has class vision.

I am gonna put it out there, I would happily have him start the game on Sunday over Lee Bowyer, quite happily.

When Michel was announcedd MOTM, which I thought was rubbish, he got booed. Not a favorite at all down the Blues even though he doesn't play and people can't really judge him

Why the Hell did they boo?

I heard that and I just thought.. ***

I think it was because we was about to get knocked out of the cup and people were warming up their booing for the final whistle

Totally agree - not because I'm slating Bowyer, but because for some reason he just hasn't got going IMO this season - either he's carrying a niggle or just can't be bothered now it's the second season in the Prem (Melchiot syndrome I believe it's called :D ). That being said - where would Bowyer play on Sunday anyway? He's nowhere near my starting 11 regardless of the formation!

I assumed it was the Brentford fans..? The 3 lads sat behind me were banging on about how s**** he was all game, even after his off the line clearance

Michel is apparently the heir apparent to Ferguson. However If I were a betting man, which I am, if Ferguson did indeed get injured, would Eck bring Michel into th first team to replace him? I really have my doubts. IMO he would still keep him on the bench. I don't think he rates him or has the confidence in him to play more than in emergency situations.
