It's ridiculous isn't it. The Sunderland Newcastle one is on sky. Someone told me that they never show the 12 start matches but doesn't know why.

Why can't they show both? They've got enough channels!

They ahve shown Blues / Vile at lunch time on a Sunday before.

They have the geordie / mackam game on later, but have opted to show some useless Jock waste of space game at linch time.

No excuses - they chose not to show our game.

It is yet another reason why I chose to bin my Sky Sports subscription this year.

Got to say - I haven't missed it yet, and I'm around £100 better off to boot!!

Is it because of the potential for some scrote to run on the pitch?

I am so annoyed with this decision by sky that I feel it warrants a series of complaints by ourselves to let them know how aghast we are with them.

Any chance we can get the evening mail to back us up by doing a petition?

I also feel local landlords should also be complaining as they are losing out on a brilliant opportunity to get good return in sales behind the bar especially when sky charge them so much to have sky in their pubs.

I really hope that Portsmouth land lady wins her appeal at the ECJ now as this monopoly needs to be broken up.

I would think it will be on the foreign channels, with many pubs having them. But what is sky up to not showing it?

Good idea. I walk past very near the Red White & Blue on the way home from work. Might pop my head round and ask if they're showing the game.

Stop dripping, we'll figure something out. And this is the first Tyneside derby in a few years so there's a novelty to it. Having said that, I don't see the commercial appeal of Liverpool - Bolton, which is on at the same time.

It's not the first time Sky have decided not to show the game.

The 03/04 match at St. Andrews wasn't, nor was the 07/08 match at Villa Park.

I have always had the feeling that outside of Birmingham, the match isn't viewed as important. I was listening to a podcast last season when the game at Villa Park was set to go ahead that weekend, and the presenter just mentioned it like it was a normal Premier League match.

Also, Newcastle were in the Championship last season, so it's the first time Newcastle-Sunderland match in a while - and they did show both Blues-Villa games last season, so....

If I was scheduling it, id much prefer to have had Villa v Blues on at lunchtime on Sunday, then have Newcastle v Sunderland on at 4pm... instead they have Bolton v Liverpool on at 4pm which just sounds like a dreadful game waiting to happen IMO.

Maybe the police won't allow Newcastle-Sunderland to kick-off at 4pm?

I don't know, but it's a possibility...
