Sorry do I need a CRB to do that? Or how about be vetted by you? I am a supporter of Birmingham City Football Club and I will not sit here and let it be slagged of by pregnant goldfish the likes of Bumble who is obviously a wind up merchant of the finest quality.

Its about time we had more pride in the club we support instead of protecting goons like him!

You may or may not have noticed AW that others have said the same thing but in slightly different ways and not had the same response that Bumble did. Thats because Bumble spends the whole time slagging blues off. I believe he is a wind up merchant and many many others do as well.

Potentially we are as big a club as them

Right now , We are not

Spot on barrnett **thumbup

The only way we will get our fan base up is to actually do something, if we had a history like the vile I do beleave we would be much bigger than they are now.

I've made a similar point before on here, but I think it's probably worth repeating. I've known times when Blues fans have cancelled holidays, rearranged weddings and risked the sack from work so that they can support their club.

Couldn't go to the Blues because you were at a UB40 gig? This isn't a personal attack, honestly, I'm generally interested in the thought process here. At what point did watching a talented but hardly current local band become more important to you than supporting your team's progress to the Quarter Finals of a Cup match?

I'm not disputing that you're a true fan. You buy your ST and probably have done for years. But I honestly couldn't have justified missing the match on Tuesday even if I'd been given free tickets to watch Girls Aloud perform an 'exotic dance' with the promise of 'afters' for any Blues fans in the audience.

This is what I don't get with some people, he has the ability to make a choice of what HE wants to do in his life.

People don't live there whole lives supporting the football club blindly and throwing money at the club to watch what was until the 92nd minute a abhorrant performance by players who are competing for first team places. I'm sure UB40 only played that night and wasn't on all week.

I went to the match because it was a reduced price of £10 and thats all I'm willing to spend at this point in time, I don't feel £24 to watch Blackpool is worthwhile, especially when last season games were £9 cheaper in the Premiership. I don't have the money to buy a season ticket therefore I'm left going to smaller cup games and choosing other games I wish to see providing the price is right.

The club doesn't have 30,000 people who will pay what the club wants every week therefore the stands will be emptier and fans will not come as often, people these days will choose what they want to do in life and for alot of people spending £25 minimum for a ticket to watch the club play in the Premiership cannot be justified.

It's a perfect opportunity this sunday to show the vile and everybody else how great are fans are..

I want to see every single bluenose lucky enough to be at the game with me singing their heart out WHATEVER THE SCORE from half hour before KO untill half hour after KO,

They may have bigger support and more fans than our club, but we can show them we have the BEST, most PASSIONATE, LOYAL fans,

I really want us to make it something special for our boys to walk out onto sunday afternoon...behind enemy lines.

Bear,
This particular cup is not taken very seriously by premier league clubs as they field weakened teams. I'm
sorry, but if they are not bothered , then neither am I. I have a ST, but would have to leave work early, travel back home, clean myself up, grab a bite to eat, then travel 15 miles or so through rush hour traffic,
try to park the motor somewhere safe, and then watch second rate football. Even the game between Man u
and Wolves was a non event. We have around 13 or 14 thousand ST holders, so a good many more must think the same. Looking back a good few years I remember a cup game between Blues and Hereford Utd
attracted a gate of 24 thousand odd , first come first served. We were sat a few rows from the front, and it hissed it down that night. BTW, we were not a premier club then. Untill we start playing consistantly well ,
turning he vile over now and again, it is going to be a struggle to attract new fans.

I think you misunderstand me. I dont dispute his right to make his own choice. It is a right that I would strongly argue in favour of, fight for in fact.

My question is this. Why choose UB40 over Blues - when in times past the choice would have always been to choose Blues over anything else?

I think if we could ascertain why Blues are less important to some today than they perceivably were 20-years ago is an enigma. If we knew the answer to that perhaps we could start to ascertain the reasons for falling attendances at St Andrews. It isn't a criticism of the choice - it's simply a question of research.

Just seen the new bus service the club are putting on.

http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0...2199700,00.html

What an absolutely fantastic idea!

Getting old fans back and new fans to come along - IF THIS doesn't get a couple hundred extra supporters down to St. Andrews I don't know what will!!?

Well done to the board. :applause: :applause: :applause:

I live 200 miles and a 4-5 hr drive away from Brum. I can't get my head around the fact that there are supposed fans who live in Brum who do not go to every home game (cash flow probs notwithstanding) cos when I last lived in Brum I never missed a single home match and that was one of our doldrum seasons, 86/87, we only just managed to avoid relegation to Div 3 as far as I remember.

Like the above post, I've had to try and stop getting worked up about the crowds. they have been poor for a good while unfortunately.

Never mind the league cup, I have looked round the ground to loads of empty seats against VILLA, Liverpool, Spurs etc.

Villa do, however, have a bigger "active" support than we do - i think alot to do with their success overall (been in Prem since it started in 92 etc) and also their recent 'success' in three 6th place finishes, League cup final last year etc.

Some of their fans probably think they will be getting the final again, and want to make sure they can get a ticket ;)

Lets remember that they havent always been pulling in the crowds. Just as a quick aside, when posting a reply in another thread, I was looking up when they played Man City on Halloween in 2005. From that I got onto a game a year later in November 2006 - not long after O'Neill had too over. It was Villa 1 - 3 Man City and the crowd....

.......................................30,124.

Their support has gone up recently due to the promise of them "getting to the Champions League"...............and then falling short :LMAO:
