Was just watching a couple of clips of previous derby games before I went up town on the lash, and I have to say, it has got me even more excited about Sunday!

I watched the 2-0 win at St.Andrews with Heskey and Gray scoring, then I watched a 10 minute clip of the 2-0 win at Villa Park, and it reminded me of how well we used to do against them under Steve Bruce.

In particular the one at Villa park, it brings back so many memories... The magic of Dugarry, the sheer wizardry of Stan Lazaridis, the battling spirit of Robbie Savage.. Hell, whilst watching that I even slightly miss him..

The GK screw-ups that always happened with the Villa against us, Geoff Horsfields heroic antics in the derby games, and the funny thing is, that goal he scored when he pestered JL Samuel and then kicked the ball away from Enkelman before slotting home, I bet if that happened nowadays, it would be deemed as a foul, it was great officiating.

Those old clips always remind me of how great Maik Taylor has been for us at Blues aswell, I havent got a bad word to say about the guy, great bloke and great player.

Then I watched the one at Villa Park when Stern John equalised, and I ALWAYS manage to get goosebumps before the ball even reaches the penalty area on that clip! That goal, and the goal against Millwall, means Sterny will always be a legend IMO anyway.

Just thought I would share a few pre-derby thoughts, I didnt find the one at St.Andrews last season as exciting as they have been in years gone by, but the one at Villa Park was a corker!

Im hoping for the same this Sunday... I hope memories are made, folklore is crafted, and legendary status is gifted to a few in the Royal blue!

KRO everyone!

Yeah, me too. Watched the 2-1 where Morrisson and Dunn scored. Shouldn't have really, as I feel sick with apprehension now.

The 2-2 at vile park does it for me, Stern John with the final kick of the game, like you say, goosebumps during the build-up to that goal. Steve Bruce dancing all over the pitch!!!!

Some of us are old enough to recall when we beat them five times on the trot

Between April 1976 and February 1978

3-2 (H)

2-1 (A)

2-1 (H)

1-0 (A)

1-0 (H)

Trevor Francis got four of those goals and Kenny Burns got two of them ....the 3-2 was the best (at St Andrews as well).....we were awesome that day .....46,000 in the house as well

Happy Days

I woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday and got very very sick with nerves... disappointed when I realised I had to wait another day! Just had a quick look at their forums, very few confident which surprises me!

The only thing that worries me is the state of our away form at the moment, not against Villa but most teams. Although having said that we played well 1st half against Arsenal so maybe I'm worrying for nothing!

Would LOVE to see Ridge, SuperKev and Gardner score for us!

Remember watching the Enckelman game at my mates because we didn't have sky... that was when I became proper passionate about the Blues that night :)

My Dad was at that game and never tires of reminding of me of it either!!

Another one was round about the same era when he and a large group went to the sty early doors and got up the back of the Holte End to find it packed with other noses who proceeded to sing throughout the game, "We've got the Holte End in our hands!"

Anyone else there?

I was there, standing behind the goal, think we were bottom at the time and still got relegated.

Stern John had a habit of taking off his shirt after scoring, probably yellow carded for those.

Good goals by him though, and by Forssell.

Really not a fan of these last few hours before the game. If you're going today, stay safe and have a great day.

Try being there behind the goal.

I was standing at the back of the stand and when we scored i was touching the grass on the pitch. that end went mental. :banner: :banner: :banner:

I've just had a dream that Villa got a player sent off inside the first minute. Unlucky for them as it was only a yellow......;-)

I know what you mean, purposely slept late today hoping to miss all the build up and then completely forgot that the clocks went back, so have another hour to be nervous :(
