You've got to love stevie carr... bluenose legend

Quote:

Stephen Carr, the Birmingham City captain, has risked inflaming Sunday's second-city derby by saying he has no regrets about making an obscene gesture to Aston Villa supporters at the end of last season's controversial 1-0 defeat at Villa Park, and claiming he apologised to the Football Association for his behaviour against his will.

Quote:

Asked whether he regrets the incident, Carr said: "No. That's life. I did it at the time and it was all quite emotional. You shouldn't regret it. It's not good. You can't regret it. It was a spur of the moment thing."

Quote:

I basically had to apologise," the 34-year-old right-back said. Asked whether he wanted to say sorry, Carr replied: "No, but there wasn't a lot I could do."

He is gonna get absolute dog's abuse on Sunday.

Sadly for us, IMO, he isnt the type of player that will up his game when put under that much abuse, I think personally he is gonna do something stupid.

Considering how error-prone he has been of late, and considering the fact that Villa have many talented wingers who could cause Carr alot of problems on Sunday, I think Stevie would have been better off keeping it zipped on this occasion, and do the talking after the game

I do love how you spell it out so delicately.

This translates to: Carr isn't good enough and shall get torn to pieces.

You are right though fella, why get so chopsy with this game and Downing and Young pending?

I personally think hes a hero!

But i feel this might be out of context. He might have been more on about the FA treating him badly and journo twisted around!

Who knows!

He is good enough, definately, he showed that all of last season, but as our club captain, I think he should know better than to give Houllier any sort of ammunition.

If there is risk of the words being twisted, then dont speak out at all, until after the game, simples.

Houllier is a clever manager, and just like Di Matteo did, he will already know where our weak points are, and as much as I hate to say it, Carr keeps making silly mistakes, and until he stops, then im sure opposition managers will continue to put him under pressure.

I just think Carr should be focusing on his game, rather than talking to the media, that is all

Come on Pools.

:LMAO:

He's set the villa up.

:LMAO:

1...He is being honest.
2...Probably the first time any media been interested enough to ask
3...Since that match I doubt that anyone at blues DOES'NT KNOW about his opinion
4... Villa players and fans will know about his feelings NOW
5.... HOW do they react ?
6.... Exactly :D If they do as Houlier wants, and retain discipline. The fans won't like it will they?

He is on a winner Pools. He has shown no disrespect to anyone.
First time in his long career that he has faced a'Tribunal' - is he being disresctful to them for treating him like a child?
Steve was not alone in his dismay and anger at that penalty decision...Blues as a team were fined for our reaction. Not just Steve.Who was not fined, but was the only person held to account.

Who do you think he showed disrespect to by his comments ?

He was being honest and that deserves respect, not slag.

I can understand why he was emotional after the game but he should have showed more composure...this is the man who is supposed to be our captain and set an example for our team. He should have had more respect and restraint.

Carr did what most of us dream of doing....After reading viletalk forum about the game and read what they have put he is spot on.

They are just a bunch of (Carr Gestures).

He is a Legend in my eyes...

he's a ledge in my eyes, he did what all of us would have loved to have done, gone to their end and wound them up. However i would have preferred him to have played first, beat them, then said this, it would have made it a bit sweeter.
