What more does Ashley want?! They're 11th! Have beaten Arsenal at the Emirates, Sunderland at home 5-1 and drew with Chelsea last week!

Good for us though, hopefully they'll be all over the place when we play them on the 18th!

Outrageous, and they broke 100 points last season too.

The man is quite clearly a fool.

The sham about the search NOW starting like.
:banghead:

Seems Curbishley is the fans suspected new manager, not so sure myself.

But when do you sack a manager that has proved, and is proving himself. Growing into the job like

Beat Arsenal at the Emirates.
Dumped Chelsea out the Carling at Stamford Bridge, thrashed Sunderland 5-1 ----and
for beating Villa 6-0 Hughton deserves a knighthood not a P45.

Newcastle have just volunteered themselves for relegation. Great news for every other club in the bottom half of the table.

Bloody hell I somehow forgot about the Villa game and the Chelsea game! Mike Ashley is a ****. I actually feel really sorry for their fans, judging by their message boards they're all in shock and pretty angry. Haven't come across anyone yet who wanted him to go.

I really cannot understand the mentality at Newcastle. They really have this idea that they're a big-time club that deserve to be way up at the top of the table (they're not.)
God help the next fool who takes on the job...

I may be wrong like, but it's not always results at the toon is it?

I think a fair bit of it is that NO ONE can be bigger or more popular than Ashley.

Gets rid of Allardyce to bring in Keegan

Who he gets rid of and replaces with the cheapest available in Kinnear who nearly dies so it's Shearer who was too popular even with relegation, so it's back to a cheap manager - who succeeds and is as popular as Keegan/Shearer....

Doesn't make sense. What manager with self respect is going to go there, unless they have a Cappello size sacking clause.

They've been looking for an excuse for a long time to get rid. They couldn't do it following the Sunbedland game, just needed to wait a wee while.

If they get Martin O'neil then it will be a good move. It is very harsh on Chris Hughton but if he is replaced by someone better then it will be a good decision by Ashley.

If he is replaced with someone like Curbishly then i'm withthe rest of you **thumbup

Just seen on the BBC that Ashley and co. have dumped Chris Hughton, the manager who not only won the Championship for the club but has them in 11th place in the Prem.

Whaaaat?

Makes no sense - the players have a great relationship with Hughton and they play their hearts out for him.

I can only guess that there was a bust up we are not hearing of as Hughton was hardly on mega bucks.

What a disgraceful decision.

From a purely selfish point of view though...

1. If they still havn't got a manager when they come to Stan's in a couple of weeks they should be extra-vulnerable.

2. Would they ask McLeish if he wants the job?

3. Would he consider it? I doubt he would to be honest but you never know in football... It is closer to Scotland aswell.

They do seem to have lost the plot.

MON is being touted as successor (favourite at the bookies apparently), which I guess confirms the losing the plot diagnosis.

I just read this and am lost for words, he's done more for that club than any manager in the last ten years.

I think that the board still have that big club mentality, they think they should be challenging for Europe and stuff.

Thing is o'niel will want/need money and they don't have that, they could be no better off league wise.

Plus if he ddn't finish higher than 11th by the end of the season he'd more than likely be off!

I bet there are a few managers ruling themselves out right now. That board are a joke at times. Feel sorry for the fans.

Just when they finally have some cohesiveness and a semblance of managerial stability, halfway through what can only be described as a successful return to the premier league, the gaffer is sacked. A farcical and disgraceful decision no matter who they bring in to replace him.

MON left Villa because of financing issues and selling players.

The toon spent £42 this summer :D

And what if Arsenal / Man City do follow up interest in Carrol - it will be Milner all over again for MON.

I think it's Bruce :D

feel sorry for hughton ,christ he got them up last season and he not doing to bad, anyway anyone that puts out a team and beats the vile 6-0 deserves a knighthood

my money is on O'neil but i think Bruce could be a outside bet or Gianfranco Zola
