Hey guys! I'm getting a new digital camera for Xmas and don't know the first thing about them really. I've seen some I like (see below) but don't know which is the best? Is Panasonic better than Samsung etc? Any advice on which is the best of these? 1. http://www.johnlewis.com/231078601/Product.aspx 2. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...ductInformation Thanks! **thumbup |

Alright Mrs F! It depends what you want to use the camera for - holiday/landscape-esque shots or more party/nights out type shots, for example. There's not much to choose between them but the first one might be better for portrait shots (face recognition) while the second has a slightly better zoom so could be better for landscapes...? Upto you though really - not much between them so just personal preference. You might want to check which comes with the best guarentee/warrenty aswell as some of these types of cameras are prone to memory and or battery problems (from personal experience). **thumbup |

Mrs F you don't say how much you want to spend. Digital cameras vary quite a lot, if it's just point and shoot you're after then those you have mentioned are as good as any. On the other hand if you want something a bit more sophisticated like an slr then obviously you have to dig deep into the old bank account. Whatever you go for let us know and let us see your pics on this forum, happy snapping Mrs F :) |

Cheers for the advice guys! I've decided to go for the Panasonic one & I'm sure it'll be fine. I just want it for hols/night out pics etc nothing fancy. It's first outing will be Birmingham so you can see the pix then. ;) Thanks again! |
