Anybody else on here had a form from the DVLA requesting a new photo?

It says Ive gotta send a new photo with £20 to Swansea, otherwise I could incur a fine of upto £1000 !

I wasnt pleased when I read it and I just thought what a load of cr@p. Whats stopping me from sending any old photo, just sounds like more red tape to me....

Best do it my wife has just had hers, your licence will be void otherwise and that means sheet loads of bother if you don't.

Better to do it or get banned and have to take your test again ;)

Only if it needs to be re-newed for any reason. ie after traffic offence ban, or lost and need to replace etc.

My dads got the paper version. Passed his driving test about 30 odd years ago and he hasn't been asked to get a new one.

So if there is people without photo ones why do those with them need an up to date photo tomatoes

So they can screw more money from you.
But don't forget anyone with a licence (paper version) such as mine & your old mans can't drive a vehicle abroad. The photo ones are European paper ones are not.

Yeah you're right I think they need to be renewed every ten years to update the pic.

Yup , ten years I'm gonna grow a beard for my next pick, then I'll have my head shaved for the next. Something I can change straight after I've sent the pic. :D

NO NO sorry to bang on about this, but this is surely another one of those :ph43r: stealth taxes we hear so much about.

Im guessing there are approx 20million license owners in the UK. £20 every 10 years pls...kerching!!!

What an absolute load of ****..... and like treetop says...if you havent had any cause to send your license in then the old A4 one is just fine !!

And you dont have to send your license in if youve had a speeding fine or some sort of ban etc etc....I sent mine in originally because my address had changed :banghead: :banghead:

Being HONEST no longer pays
