Could anyone recommend me some places to look? I have a job at present but my employers take advantage of me greatly and unfortunately I am now fed up.
9Won't go into detail as it's not the point of the thread)

So simply put does anyone know any good places to start looking?

Online or otherwise...

P.s. i've tried the direct gov job centre :)

Loads of part-time x-mas jobs available

Again depends as the last poster mentioned what kind of job your looking for

Edit - as Jassy mentioned, looked at the post and it seemed a tad rude (it's early and I'm a little hungover)

if you are looking for a permanent part time job, apply online to b&q, the jobs average around 20 hours a week. if you don't like it you can leave, if you do like it there are some good careers there. if you fancy it you have to apply online.
good luck with what ever you decide, maulley.

Type of work -

Part time 20ish hours a week and anything if im honest at the moment, i want to earn some experience of different things...

Possibly even something that if I enjoy it enough there is a future there but not essential.

I'll agree with bar work.

If you get the right place, bar work can be like a night out where you get paid.

Is it money you need - because PT work is flooded with students and the suddenly active seasonal workers. If you want PT work beyond Christmas, it is best to look beyond bar/catering.

If you are looking for experience then there is a multitude of charities and non-profit groups that will pay you a minimum of travel/food etc, but will give you a huge measure of experience and knowledge.

I don't know which council you come under friend, but most have a charity placement or at least a volunteer dept. that you could approach.

Not all charity/volunteer groups require tweed-set ladies in pearls and 4 wheel drives :D quite a lot want enthusiasm, comitment and will pay.
Not as much as a busy pub, but will be better for you if you want to learn and experience life.

Thank you for your advice ;)

Haven't got a job yet but applied to a couple of places :)

Thank you for your help guys...

Holmsie... If your looking part time dependant on what you want to go into look at the major organisations within each sector i.e. food = subway, kfc, etc (those that are looking to expand)
