Are rubbish, or villa fans.
And I include the MotD editor.

On their website they have a list of reasons for postponed matches. Ours was postponed, same as Liverpool's and Chelsea's tomorrow, on advice from police and officials.

Quote:

Liverpool 0-0 Fulham
Postponed - due to safety reasons

Arsenal 0-0 Stoke
Postponed - due to snow

Birmingham 0-0 Newcastle
Postponed - due to frozen pitch

Blackburn v  West Ham 15:00

Wigan 0-0 Aston Villa
Postponed - due to snow

Frozen pitch eh?

Yes.

We read the statements put out by the club etc.

Along with floodlights we also have undersoil heating.

How long you been away ?

Yep, they said they could have cleared the snow from the pitch in the video. And that the game was all ready to go ahead at 9am. I doubt the pitch would have completely frozen in 2 hours with the undersoil heating on too.

The problem is the game was at 3 pm not 9 am.

Plus it was snowing heavily from before the pitch inspection til 5 pm.

I know but if the game was called off between 11-12 then it can't have been due to a frozen pitch, if the pitch was playable at 9 and the undersoil heating stayed on...

Okay.

You see the Ipswich game?

Ours would have been worse then that plus the fact we dont have blue lines.

I'm not arguing that the game could/should have gone ahead, I was responding to the comment that the reason for the postponment could have been a frozen pitch. It was obviously due to the surrounding conditions.

Why are we all so defensive of it not being a frozen pitch?

I have just seen a clip of inside St Andrews from the Main Stand on Sky News. The entire pitch was under a thick blanket of snow. The pitch may have been frozen, it may not. The areas outside St Andrews may have been treachorous ao maybe not. But one thing was for certain, no way football could have been played on a thick blanket of snow.

I would say we had far too much snow at the wrong time and that is why the game was called off and and why the deciision was made at the time it was.

Because there's have a shedload of Newcastle fans ripping it and saying that we're too rubbish to have undersoil heating, when in fact we do. Cheers BBC.

Who cares. Let them think what they like.

Having under soil heating doesn't guarantee that the pitch wont freeze.

Maybe it was turned off? Another problem with undersoil heating causes snow to thaw out and cause the pitch to be waterlogged. The fact the snow was settled maybe it was turned off?

Maybe this, maybe be that ?

Jeez. Don't you believe the club at all?

"The game was cancelled on Health and Safety grounds".

Not a frozen pitch, not run out of tea, but Health and Safety grounds.
That includes, walkways and steps on Blues'property AS WELL as surrounding pavements, streets and the problems of a few thousand cars.

Maybe you just want to criticise the club, not having a player to vent your Saturday whinge on?

I know I'm on your "have a dig" list mate, but try and follow please.

My crit is of the BBC and their mis-information about why the match was cancelled.

Yourself and others have hinted that perhaps they were not wrong, perhaps the club mislead people etc etc.

In the absence of defending blues' players and managers, on this particular Saturday I've had to resort to defending the clubs' integrity.

And who do we have inferring or casting doubt on it? None other than yourself and your fellow blues-bashers.

Now there is a surprise.

No frozen pitch nonsense from Pardew.
