Hasn't he scored more league goals than Jerome? |

I'm not sure it's right to sell him yet, as we still don't really know if he can actually finish. Very few times this season has there been a shocking miss from anyone really and so it can't just be Zigic's fault if he hasn't got man chances to score - I genuinely think it's the service that is a problem. That's not to say he's brilliant, but we haven't seen enough of him to judge him comprehensively. I know he's slow, but this is exemplified because teams can flood him and put him under pressure as there is no-one else in support half the time - if there were others to pass to he a) wouldnt be forced to hold it and lose it and b.) wouldn't be harried for fear of leaving space open. I'm unconvinced that any striker is really going to suit our style of player atm, so I think Zigic is a reasonable option. And although he can't jump, his direction of headers seems to be reasonably good, so decent crosses, rather than lumnped balls forward, could prove productive. |

As jaggers has said, I haven't seen him miss anything that could class as a sitter ...we don't create many chances, it cant always be the forwards we buy? I mean they score goals at previous clubs, I think if we were more positive on our play we would see more goals. As for Zigic I really rate him, and he could be the difference tomorrow. |

Yup I agree with all your points and so does McLeish. Problem is this is the Premier League and not a league in Spain, Germany or any other European country for that matter. The Premier League is face paced and involves aerial work as a front man/target man. 6 million quid and 50k a week wasted in my opinion, apart from the header against Arsenal, name a goal, glimpse or something that he has done that reflects this player you've seen abroad? I'm sorry guys but Zigic for me is not good enough for the Premier League he is too lazy, static and clueless at the best of times. And the fact the board bought him and not Eck is more so annoying as that would of been 6m in the war chest and 50k a week extra the gaffer would have had to bring a proven Premier League goal scorer in. 6ft 8 and not amazing in the air, then hes in the wrong job! |

Zigic. All these people that say he is good, great, needs more time etc., please answer these points. Have you ever seen him run, anything like fast and with purpose, either with or without the ball ? Have you ever seen his feet leave the ground when he jumps ? Have you ever seen him consistently outjump defenders, several of them considerably shorter than him ? Have you ever seen him use any physical strength to win or shield a ball or out muscle an opponent ? Have you ever seen him consistenly control the ball and lay it off to teammates, rather than try fancy flicks ? People on here also say play to his strengths. Some say play him with service from the wings - presumably for him to head the ball ? Others say his strength is not in heading, it's in close control. Any inconsistency here ? And for those who say he needs time to settle, I say Raphael Van Der Vaart. |

I hope we don't sell him. Whatever McLeish saw in him 6 months ago hasn't disappeared -we all know that foreign players often take time to bed down in the english game. I think it would be too soon. The only exception I would make for this would be if we were offered a dead cert experienced proven Premier league finisher and needed to raise funds in order to pay for this player, but otherwise, Zigic should stay. |

Whenever I have seen this big guy I have thought he is a handful. He has given Blues a new angle (and outlet) and like Crouch he is difficult to control, which makes it easier for the likes of Jerome and Phillips to feed off. Derbyshire up front alone is like Dads v Lads. Last two games he has been in the CB pocket (too easy for Prem defenders to police) |

Good points, my spin on it is that Zig is all about the second ball in the box and causing havoc, knocking it down for others to latch on too etc. The dirty Ammers said this before the last match, didn't fancy playing against him. To be honest as it stands I would rather have him as a lone striker than Derbyshire and Jerome, who can't hold up the ball very well at all. He isn't very mobile, he might as well just stand up top and get Bentley to hammer the balls into him! |

He did well against Vile to put us through to the semi-final. Put it about in the box to make the goal against Man Utd. He looks like he is getting their to me. I would like to see him play against West Ham. **thumbup |

If this goes through I'd like to know who they think they can replace him with. What a shame, he never got a chance. First Michel, and now Zigic. |

Blues have got a reputation for getting rid of players before they have someone in. Look at the season they sold Upson. |

They were in the championship when they sold Upson and desperately wanted to trim the wage bill. My guess is that Zigic would only be allowed to leave if someone else is lined up up to replace him. |

There has been talk that the coaching staff have been working hard on Zigics positional play and recently it seems to be paying off. He has not had much team time but he has improved of late. I want to see him as the target man laying balls off for Jerome who at the moment is in an impossible situation. He has to win the ball, play it to himself and beat the three men around him as we have only one forward. Have faith and keep them both. Having said that I would like to see another striker who is mobile and knows where the net is. KRO! |

A goal scorer is based off goals scored so if Zigic ends this season with more goals then Jerome then that's a good start in the premier for him. Also Jerome has spent a lot more mins on the pitch than Zigic. |

It isn't pretty but from now on just stick Zigic upfront and feed off his knock downs, it worked so well tonight. |
