3 games in a week including extra time against wet spam is why the pitch is in a bad way

All the other prem sides have to play week in weeek out and up North have far worse weather than us but their pitches are far better, ours is always bumpy and uneven all the time, if it is to stop the better teams at our place I could understand but not agree.

YOu are talkin carp

Our pitch is no better or no worse than any other teams....and it certainly ain't bumpy or uneven like you claim.....rubbish thread, absolute rubbish

After the snow and extreme cold, it's about where it should be, don't know why you claim ,what you claim ? ?

I think it is you who is talking carp.

Take your blue specs off and actually look at the other pitches in the premier league.

Our pitch was truly awful last night. It was getting comments on TalkSport, Radio5Live and Sky. If all the other pitches were like ours then why aren't they singled out? I'll tell you why, it's because our pitch is bad and probably the worst and you talk such carp bluebirdy...as always I have noticed.

The pitch looked like a snooker table upto Xmas, perfect. But has cut up horribly since.

We are not alone though and a lot of clubs are suffering. We had the worst winter in our lifetime.

This was from the Wolves forum a few days a go, moaning about their own pitch....

Quote:

The pitch was awful. When the new pitch, undersoil mixture and drainage was laid in the close season, we were told the pitch would be one of the best in the country. What has gone wrong? I think that this was one of the worst I have seen this season. I hope the Wolves management will explain why. It was embarrassiong.

We was already warned that after having it re-layed and the undersoil heating fitted that the pitch would take a few years to properly bed down.

Obviously the amount of games and weather haven't helped that process but I would prefer a trip to Wembley than a lush green pitch to play on...it will get us used to the Wembley pitch too!!

mate even before that we had a poor pitch I cannot remember ever seeing a really good pitch at our place.

Very selective memory you have then, we over the years have had a great pitch.

Also when the pitch is newly laid, does that not count as a great playing surface? or in your mind do we lay it down all lumpy?

Please remember that after all that snow was a thaw, our pitch probably got quite water logged at some point for a few days, then there is the frosts which dont help. Plus the fact we played 120 minutes against west ham there, the pitch is just suffering from wear and tear, it happens.

Maybe you should go to a few more games at the start of the season.

.I was told last week that the under soil heating was out of action for a week or so, in that time the frost got in, its now fixed but the turf has been damaged. Can't say if this is true but was told by a reasonably reliable person

I was also told this mate, it's true the boiler had broke. Ah well, with the recent temperatures it's not really a concern. It just needs some sun and a break from being played on.

I'll believe you bluerinse.

I seem to remember you had a source telling you Darren Bent was going to Villa. You posted it on here and all the usual suspects crucified you for it. Some eggs were on faces when he signed.

Do you think it is a rubbish groundsman or is he told to prepare it that way?

Booby twiddling with his keyboard; "Hhhhmmmm - I can't moan about McLeish, I can't moan about the players, I can't moan about the playing system, I can't moan about the (good) signings that we've made, I can't moan about Pannu/the board/Yeung; what can I moan about....... oh I know I'll have a pop at the groundsman".

Its winter, a bad one at that, every pitch is the same, as has already been said, so get over yourself.

You really are a joker, and although I don't go along with the Viler rumours on here, you don't believe in making things easy for yourself, do you? Having said that, its easy to spout such rubbish from behind your keyboard.

The pitch is the worst in the Premiership and you have allowed your childish paranoia to cloud your judgement. Some of you 'he's a Viler' guys need to get a life.

Very observant of you BBN, well done! It was in the man city predicted team topic I think.

I'll try and pester my uncle some more next time I see him, get some
goss for here!

(Some pitch related gossip);
I can remember when the new owners were being shown round the training ground for the first time they were asking how we get different types of grass on one pitch growing in columns.... They couldn't understand how it was just a roller on the back of the mower!

And they say blokes can't multi-task.

**thumbup

Last night there was no 'live' commentary on Radio 5 - just blokes chattering and going to reporters at the ground when somethink happened like.

You must have really 'lucked in ' to hear the reporter mention our pitch :D

I've never said our pitch ain't bad now

Check my post I was replying to his accusations that our pitch has been bumpy and uneven all the time, which it hasn't....post Xmas maybe

Anyway since when have you took notice of other teams pitches...what are you... the prems resident pitch inspection official ? ?

When you actually go to a match like me being a season ticket holder and other grounds then come and see me then

Oh and one last thing SHA007 and Bobby

SInce our pitch has been as bad as you claim all the time ....show me a post or thread that's been made prior to a Tv pundit mentioning it ?

You pair of clowns are jumping on the old 'negativity bandwagon'

I'll wager you pair never mentioned nothing about it prior to last nights match

It's certainly in a very poor state, both Ferguson & Jerome turned their ankles last night becouse of it. The last thing we need now is for our better players to do their ankle ligaments....

Whether it's the worst in the league I don't know, but we need to get it sorted, probably have to wait until the end of the season.

The pitch is the poorest I've seen in the Premiership this season and I don't know why because I remember remarking to my missus how well it was holding up before Xmas. Some of you guys live in a fantasy world BTW.

Dont worry mate they just like to be blind when looking at anything negative, our pitch had not even been rolled for Man City to try at least make it flat, it is a poor pitch and needs ripping uo and relaying in the close season for sure.

When fergie twisted his ankle the commentator said it was because of the uneven pitch of ours.
