Strange decision. After the window has shut as well. They are on a bad run but he did well getting them promoted and had a good start. Who will they bring in who will do any better?? |

Albion have put de Matteo on gardening leave. less than a week after the transfer deadline Fair enough recent results have been poor but 49% win rate seems a bit odd. Obviously they have someone lined up but will still have the same players.and is it too late to turn it round? Will 2new boss" impetous be enough? |

I think it's a disgrace. I've got a lot of time for DiMatteo, who has been doing an amazing job. I don't understand the logic behind the decision because it is going to drag Albion down into the battle too. I don't want to see them going down and I will be gutted if west ham or Wigan stay up in their place. |

I can barely contain my indifference. Actually Di Matteo seemed decent enough. I've not seen enough of what they've been up to tactically to know if he was making a hash of things or not. |

Odd, but it's good news for us as they will probably get relegated now. He spent f all and had them performing brilliantly. Let's take Odemwingie off them in the summer!!!! |

thought he has been a great manager, done really well, they have only just come up so not sure why the board are expecting miracles when the league is so tight anyway this year. |

as a bluenose and life long birmingham city supporter i would love to see all our local clubs in the PL (woohoo)! this is feel is a foolish and knee jerk reaction from the baggies board. the type of football the baggies have been playing under RDM has been very very entertaining - they have just been unlucky to not have as many 3 point games on the board.. getting rid of such a promising young manager mid season is a farce - there IS a reason why teams such as arsenal and man utd have been so successful over the years - they had stability - they kept their captains at the helm of the ship. i feel it is not only shocking but also disgusting the way many of the boards across the country have been dropping managers like used tea bags in the bin. if the baggies do go down (and i sincerely hope they don't) at least their supporters will know who to point the fingers towards - the board and the owners. he got you promoted.. where is the trust that you need to show your manager? i'm utterly disgusted. anyways, here's hoping the baggies DO stay up - and i wish RDM all the best for the future - hope his next club isn't run by owners and a board as nervous and erratic as a bunch of lab rats in a burning meth lab - he deserves better. as do the baggies supporters. and for us? KRO! |

I was amazed to get home from a short holiday and find that Di Matteo had been sacked. I know Baggies have been on a dreadful run, but anybody who gets a team promoted should be given a season at least. I think Di Matteo did a good job on very limited resources. His team always played attractive football, but he wasn't backed with the cash to strengthen it in areas that needed strengthening. This smacks of Baggies having somebody already lined up. O'Neil? |
