I'd like to see Leyton Orient get the stadium - but they haven't put a bid in :LMAO:

Funny though, last two weeks we've seen both Karren and Dave S have a slag in public about the Spurs' bid like and we have not seen any comment or criticism of the WHU bid from Spurs.

The Legacy committee should make Pannu cough up the stuff he was threatening to mention. (When Gold had a bash at us and got excluded and the Sullyman came to St Andrews on his own - plus his 3 bodyguards - and made peace).

In fact, thinking about it, Spurs should pressure Pannu to cough up about the Sully-Gold finances and in return give us Bentley for peanuts :D

Evil, I know :o

Not like them to make a stadium bid they know is a long shot is it?

Same old tricks. It should be spurs stadium with them being a current champions league club amongst other things.

Article is titled West Ham: Stadium decision is about promise made in Queen's name and is David Sullivan putting his reasons why Wes Ham should get the stadium

Evidently he is getting a £40 million loan of Newham Council to move to local stadium

Karen Brady spouting nonsense about Spurs knocking down whole stadium and rebuilding it Daniel Levy says "Our proposal uses as much of the existing stadium infrastructure as possible, to maximise the benefit of the public investment to date. We are not "demolishing £500million" of stadium infrastructure - we are removing and recycling around £80m with zero to landfill, leaving around £420m of investment in place. Indeed, it is worth remembering that two thirds of the Olympic Stadium, under the original legacy plan, was to be dismantled".

Personally I am grateful for what they did for our club in many ways, but there spin and smoke and mirrors approach to fans and media we are well rid of. To many failed promises.

The BBC are now reporting WHU have won the race for the stadium.

Personally, as a fan I'd hate to be put in that position, especially having not been consulted by the owners.

Either...
1. Have your rivals move next door, into a big new stadium on your patch or;
2. Move from your spiritual home, an authentic, traditional football stadium to a souless, olympics arena that you can't even fill.

The thought of that just makes me sick, it's a lose/lose situation.

:LMAO:

I would not want a stadium with a running track. It was bad enough when they covered the front 2 rows of the Tilton at the West Ham game

Eventually we will get the "ooops..."
They didn't tell is this or that, so we will do the same as Spurs were going to do.
Remove the running track, take down the fabric supports ( what Karren called scrap-heaping if it was done by Spurs) and there we are.

Underwritten by a local council. negligable money spent by the club. For sight lines they will need to remove the running track and fabric supports, surely shirley ? :)

If that happens, them I presume that the £50 million that WHU invest, will come from the proceeds of selling Upton Park?

Same as man City when they moved into the Old Commonwealth games stadium.

Same as they wanted here, but with the Sands Casino and council stumping up the money. I can't remember what they intended to do with the proceeds from selling St Andrews.

I have different moods and different thoughts on different days re. sully and gold.

One day I think they did do a brilliant job for us and put a lot of time and money (over the years they did) into the club and they did at one time, love the club HOWEVER the following day I can see something like this and think to myself Im dso glad theyre gone! They are a proverbial jekyl and hyde! lol

They did nothing but good for this club, everything wwe are today is because of them. I judge directors by thier business acumen, managers by the way the team performs.

Hope that CY can take this club upwards and onwards, personally I do not like the smoke and mirrors that clouds our financial position But am prepared to give him respect for taking us on.

Gold and Sully seem to have always wanted a new stadium.

West Ham arent going to be getting 60,000 fans a week - so thats gonna be at least a third empty - if not half!

Plus add to that the terrible views and atmospheres you get at athletics stadiums - and that could put even more fans off.

I know if we moved to a stadium with a running track (especially if it was permanent!) I wouldnt go down.

Every other team does it as a temporary thing (Rotherham/Brighton).

Brady's promising that no seat will be further from the pitch than Wembley when they upgrade it for "football mode" - but we will have to wait and see.

How are they gonna do field events for athletics during the football season? Surely it would reck the pitch?
