In fairness it would seem accurate as Eck has said Blues denied him the chance to leave and yet initial reports in the media said we had accepted an offer from the magpies.

Think this is a little sad to be fair and that Seb deserves better from a club he has loyally served for wages that in football terms are low. Personally I wish the club would sort it out with him and get him signed so we don't lose him for nothing in the Summer, he continuously keeps saying he wants to stay and what would be the cost of replacing him.

Its every bloody time, I think his agent thinks its a good time to get his name around. Seb should tell him to do one.

This is old news. It was reported about two weeks ago when his agent said exactly the same thing about how badly Seb had been treated.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't really want to leave but it's up to the club to make him a sensible contract offer. If he can agree personal terms with Newcastle he can surely agree terms with Blues.

Time for Mr Pannu to pull his finger out.

Story is a load of tosh.

Some sites are reporting it as a blast at the club..it isn't.

Read his quotes not the hacks made up fantasy and headline.

Seb didn't want to be sold, he likes it here, he just found it odd how the club changed his mind but he is committed to us.

Those at the West ham game saw how he gave 200% and he is a model pro. Ignore the rubbish in the press, whatever his future is he will give everything for us until the time it comes to leave, whenever that may be. He just wants to do the best for his family.

Weve all seen this grumble on for to long now!! I don't see why we don't just offer him the parity of say Kevin Phillips or James Mcfadden, I mean there probably both on 25k with roughly 5k in bonus' a week and seb fully deserves that kind of wage in my opinion...If he rejects that then maybe its time to see what someone else can give him..

I mean the one thing that his got on his side is he's an absolute fan favourite here, im not so sure he'll have that same level of adjulation anywhere else?

Begs the question who from the top/better teams are going to start him? Not a top six side for sure realistically, could maybe see someone like fulham coming in if he wanted to go back to london but it isnt going to be an earth shattering leap to one of the elite is it!! Ask someone like Robbie Savage how smart a move it was to join someone in the same sort of "mini league" as us, where basically he was a nobody and eventually faded into obscurity! He was playing the best football of his career at blues, had finally gelled perfectly with the rest of his team mates and realistically looking back to that era he was adored...similar sort of situation with seb in my eyes! He can carry on improving his football in a team with players he obviously has faith in, while fully having the backing of all of us fans or start a fresh! ;)

Fingers crossed he'll see sense and so will Mr Pannu!! Sign him up **thumbup

Well these kind of swipes are certainly not helpful. Since Larson was not allowed to leave I can understand him being somewhat frustrated. McLeish and the management would have been in a difficult position.

Ideally they would be in a position to accept an offer and let Seb go in fighting relegation it is a tough decision. At the end of the day they have decided to keep the best squad they have to try and stay in the premier league.

In terms of getting a financial return for Seb it isnt the best decision but they have obviously put premier league at the top of their priorities.

Seb obviously has ability and the fans appreciate it when he concentrates. The situation will be resolved one way or another at the end of the season. Until then he has the opportunity to show what a model professional he can be and ensure as many clubs as possible including Blues are wanting his services.

If he doesn't want to be sold as per this report why hasn't he signed a new contract?

Per Jonsson advice ?

In truth, going off reported facts.

1. Pannu
Quote:

And Per Jonsson suggested that Blues should ‘shape up and get a little bit of class’.

Blues told Larsson that they would now NOT consider his sale in the January transfer window - and were preparing another new contract offer.

Blues decision came after they rejected a transfer request from Larsson on Thursday, a fact confirmed by Jonsson, and rebuffed Blackburn Rovers.

Blues had previously accepted a £1 million offer from Newcastle United. It was believed no personal terms could be agreed, but Jonsson stated there were still ongoing talks with Newcastle as late as Wednesday.

Rovers’ £500,000 plus bid was rejected, and then Blues decided they wanted to keep the Swedish star until the season’s end regardless.

That has brought an angry response from Jonsson, who spoke to the Birmingham Mail to put his and his client’s case.

"It has been a funny six months since the new owners have come in," he said.

"When Seb reported back for pre-season he was told that the club wanted to sell him. They asked me to find another club and employed other agents to sell the boy. They wanted £4 million for him.

"We accepted that, then, in mid-August, suddenly Seb was told ‘no, we are not going to sell you, instead we want to discuss a new contract’. We were surprised and we negotiated for a month and by the end of September we had basically agreed a deal with Julia Shelton [Blues head of football administration].

"She said everything was fine and she needed to go back to the board to get confirmation.

"We heard nothing for two months and in mid-December were told communication with Hong Kong was very difficult and suddenly a completely new offer was made which was lower than the one we had verbally agreed.

"Now, we are aware a verbal agreement isn’t binding, a written agreement is what’s needed.

"But there were substantial differences in the new offer, three years plus a two-year option loaded to Birmingham’s advantage, and the salary was lower. Naturally, we turned it down.

"Negotiations finished and it was said that, to be clear, the manager wanted to keep Seb for the whole of the remaining season, that he was an important part of the team. The manager told Seb this himself.

"Out of the blue, this month, we got an email saying Birmingham had accepted an offer from Newcastle for Seb.

"This quickly got out in the media, which sparked more interested from other suitors and the speculation in regard to Seb started to grow rapidly.

"So we had been talks with Newcastle up to Wednesday and then the plug was pulled yet again, and Birmingham decided they wanted to keep him.

A clear case of an attempt to create division betwwen Julia and Pannu ?
A quick leak to the media re- Newcastle - and suddenly Blackburn were interested :LMAO:
Upon my soul.!

2. The Deals
Quote:

Blues deemed Newcastle’s offer acceptable and Larsson’s representatives opened negotiations, only for the transfer to fall through as terms could not be agreed.

Quote:

Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier may attempt to sign Birmingham midfielder Sebastian Larsson in the summer after failing to land the Sweden international this month.

Houllier has been told that Larsson is remaining at Birmingham for the rest of the campaign until his contract expires in June, but he could revisit the possibility of signing the former Arsenal player when he becomes a free agent.

Quote:

The Swede appeared to be on his way out of St Andrews during the winter window, with moves to Newcastle and Blackburn touted.

Even Manchester City were reported to be interested at one stage, with an injury to Adam Johnson leaving them short on creative options.

3. The Player

Quote:

In the end Larsson remained in the Midlands, where his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

He admits the uncertainty surrounding his future has been difficult to handle at times but, with no move having materialised, he insists he remains fully committed to Birmingham's cause as they attempt to preserve their Premier League status

In the past we have had his representative, Per Jonsson, as being behind stories that clubs from Real Madrid to Inter were keen on Seb.

In two windows even Sullivan has had to state that NO offers were ever received for Seb.
Which is a downer if the player has read his agent's clippings attached to his invoice. :boohoo:

We have a situation where the agent, Per Jonsson, slags of blues for being late (3 months) in coming back with a deal and then it being lower...

OR....

Julia didn't get support on her agreement from China

OR...

Blues said we wanted Seb then we didn't. He was in negotiations with the toon and Blues pulled the plug.

OR...

He never actually got around to discussing the matter with Blackburn or Man City?

OR...

It was everyone else's fault, and I (we) will get more money anyway on a Bosman.

OR....

Did in fact Real Madrid and Inter lose his mobile number, this window?

Seb must be truly pizzled off. His head has been turned, his agent has made his position at the club "suspect" amongst the dressing room who are full of committed characters.

It has been said more than once on this forum...get a different agent Seb. This Jonsson guy is ruining your reputation with his comments every six months.

Lose a team mates trust is disastrous. Thank you Per Jonsson.

Some interesting points raised here, but the limbo is frankly a pain in the bottom. We'll never know whether this is Seb, his agent or the club; but what ever it is JUST PACK IT IN!!!!!! Nobody comes out of this with any credit and it is a foolish distraction to what should be one of the happier periods of this clubs history.

Agreed.

So why start such a topic ?

And if there was a danger in anyone misunderstanding the history -
I've tried to make it clear.
Not from opinion, but from quoted words.
In the interests of getting it off Seb's back and off the club's back.

OK

Who else is going to supply the winning cross to Zigic to win the CC final.

It's worth keeping him at the club to avoid relegation and to give us a healthy chance in the final since Bentley can't play.

Or the knock down from Ziggs, or cutting pass from Fergie, ...for Oba to score ?

Many variables. My NEW concern is that bloody Arsen all may end up the underdogs if our expectations keep rising. :LMAO:

I know, I feel the same, I feel it's us...no I don't. we'll put up a good fight and lose. That's the way it should be, that's the way it will be.

I have no real hope of us winning.

I take back everything I may have posted, EVER...about us winning.

I didn't mean it.

Arsenal will win. They have to.....

The Gooners are brilliant. Their third team would crush us.

Arsene is a man with a mission, he knows how to win trophy's and leagues. He sees everything and misses nothing. Arsene is God.

We are rubbish. We don't deserve to be there.

Hope that is enough St Jude

If he doesn't want to be sold as per this report why hasn't he signed a new contract?

Because Seb Lasson can't get a decent Premier League wage out of the new "ChinaBlue" contract owners after he had taken a wage cut from the last lot i.e. Sully % Co! :break:

With the board now paying £70K, £50K, £65K and £40K to our new squad players for little of no return if you believe Pannu, then I think the way they've treated Seb is a joke... and against the wage of other team players, if I was a young international professional and a flexible and talented Premier League footballer who's support play and contributions are so critical for his squad, then I would'nt sign a new contract for less than £33K a week!

What Professional Premier League Player would....? :silence:

I agree and I think the young lad would accept the bottom end of that, the £33K is only a projection based on his agents statements to the Birmingham Evening Mail!
