Of WBA

Good replacement - 1 and a half year deal, still Di Matteo didn't deserve the sac

Whilst I obviously would like the baggies to stay up - so dont take this as anything against you lot - but I think Hodgson is overrated after a good season at Fulham really.

Best of luck tho **thumbup

I have seen his record before.

Yeah he did well in Scandanavia.

Italy? Nah not so great. Pelted with coins by Inter fans after they lost the UEFA Cup final

Blackburn? Nope

Yeah amazing record???

Hodgson is okay, mr average. Hes not a "great" manager tho.

And lets not bring up Liverpool.

Be interesting to see how he does at "attacking" West Brom as he is usually a defensive minded manager.

Always strikes me as a right miserable old so and so. I fail to see why Di Matteo was sacked. Still, I'd like them to stay up, providing it's not at our expense.

in all seriousness guys, i for one didnt want him. he is so miserable he doesnt show any passion, he has no personality and reminds me of ray harford, a good coach but dour. i dont think he will suit albions style of play. i also think the fans wanted appleton to have a chance.
and just to prove what the fans think of di-mateo getting the sack, people woke up the other morning to a banner on astles gates saying PEACE OUT.
the club have asked the fans to get behind the team on saturday against wet spam, i think they will come kick off time but before then, well who knows.

Cripes maulley, who do you want as a manager - Ronald MacDonald doing backflips in a post match interview?

Isn't Wenger a bit serious - or even dour ?

Ian Holloway, where the subject always seems to be him, not the team the performance, the tactics etc ?

My ONLY fear with Hodgson going to to the baggies, is the time he has.

If he has a fault it is in his conservativism, he cautious attitiude ( not in tactics) his deliberate and considered approach.

The baggies want, and have always relied upon a manager to produce a rabbit. In my mind they would settle for a cup and years of obscurity, as long as they got the parachute money.

Boing boing may be OK for the board renumeration, but you've got a generation of fans who assume you will always bounce back. And times are changing.

As I said, my only fear is that Hodgson takes time - he may be cautious, but will 50% draws save you? If it doesn't will they keep him ?

Because I think he is a decent bloke and manager, a bit taciturn, but what do you want? Development or a Barry Fry ? He is not one to laugh off relegation, and buy 25 players.

No, he is a serious manager maulley but carrying the supporters with him is going to be difficult because they are a bit more impatient than the Fulham followers.

Good luck mate, I hope he keeps them up. (Mainly because Pearce and his mates won't have the parachute money to subsidise their holidays - joke **thumbup )

Suggest you look again mate  he has a very good CV and it was politics at liverpool the players did not want him and refused to play for him as, thy wanted a manager of their own choice and they got one.
p.s we all know about defensive managers don't we. :)

well i am sorry but i dont want him. we could have had chris houghton i think he would have done a great job. as i said even appleton deserves a chance. i think the majority of fans will be against the new manager and will certainly protest to get the board out.
i say bring back big ron, it was the best football i have ever seen at the hawthorns.
