Times was when we didn't have this day for lilac, that day for pink the day after for mauve....
...queues started when the pubs turned out on Saturday night. Get there at 7.30 on Sunday and they stretched down Cattell road, back along the main Stand to St Andrews Street out onto Garrison Lane proper and back down Tilton Rd to Cattell Road again.

I think it was 2 tickets per person and as the queues overlapped behind the Kop, there was always filtering from them that had been round once going round again, seing a mate, going over to talk and trying to slot in - as per usual anywhere.

Hot dog stands were already scattered around by 7.30 am and could well have been there all night...check with partisan, I think he was ahead of me in the queue...everyone was singing - must have been bloody awful for the locals on a Sunday morning.

Wouldn't happen now, you'd have dealers, sellers, touts and the police every 20 feet, and everyone getting buggared off with every intrusion.

I may be wrong, but there must have been some bobby around, but I can't recall seeing one.
Took us about 3 hours to shuffle around, we were allowed in the ground at the back of the Tilton (they sold the tickets off the Tilton turnstiles) and it was like heaven to my kids to see an empty St Andrews, without goal nets, really strange.

Shifted 30,000 plus tickets in one day.
Seasons's queued up with the riff-raff and had no complaints, had no feeling of preference ( I was a season in '75, but my kids were not, nor their new mates - we all queued together)
Then we played Fulham. Won't go there....

Brilliant mate.

Enjoy the night. **thumbup

When the bobby's turn up, keep them on side OK.

Sing with the dawn, and allow yourself time to dehydrate for Stoke at 3.00pm

We only sing when we're queuing

We only sing when we're queueing...

Ace! My old man was telling me about how him and my Uncle used to pitch up over night for tickets after a few back in the day, wish I was there...wish I could still afford a season ticket! KRO

Ps I did say in questions to ticket office that I thought it could be a problem selling tickets on a match day, especially when today is the first day the majority of st holders can get their tickets!!

I can see trouble towards ko time later!!
