Delap dried the ball with a Stoke towel every single throw-in that he took, and I mean, every single one.

When Ridgey asked one of the ballboys for the towel as he took one, he was refused, and told that he couldnt use the Stoke towels..

Abit of bad sportsmanship on their behalf, but it's there ground so fair enough.

Now when they come to St.Andrews, we move the barriers closer so Delap cant get a run up

:LMAO: Now I thought this was hilarious, and after all, football is about tactics and mind-games on and off the pitch, so if we werent allowed to utilise stuff like towels at their ground, why should we show them any respect coming to ours?

I absolutely hate Stoke, they play dire football, and moan when people go long against them.

So many people Vilers have wrote on Tom Ross' statuses and wall calling us 'Cheating ****' for moving the barriers, but I dont see the big deal?

Why should we allow Delap to have a huge run up so he can take 20 bloody minutes with every throw-in.

It can be unbelievable at times with the double standards of some of the teams in this league.

Oh well, no hard feelings, we got the 3 points :drink:

I swear Ridge said he wouldn't take the throw in until the ball boy gave him the towel and then when he eventually did he took ages to dry it and took a short throw

I've got a pic of him arguing with the ball boy somewhere...

I love Ridge

This was particularly funny.

And the ref for the day gave into common sense when he came over and asked why Ridge wouldn't take the throw in, when he was told the ballboy was holding onto the towel i remember his look, it was disbelief and just said give him the towel so we can get on with the game!

Then all he did was throw it about 6 yards

Ridgewell stood his ground.

"If they’re going to use one, I will as well," said Ridgewell. "There shouldn’t be any difference.

"I just wanted it to try and wipe the ball down to get a long throw like Rory Delap.

"They take a good minute to get his going as it is and I’m sure if they were winning they would take the sting out of the game as well.

"I asked him for it, he said ‘no’. I said ‘just give me the towel’, he said ‘no’. So I said ‘all right, fair enough, I will stand here until you give me it’.

"I looked over the referee and he told him to give it to me. It’s a bit bad considering you have to confront a ballboy to do that.

"When I got the towel, I chucked it back at him. He just sat down and then the fourth official took the towels away from them all. It was just a bit of banter, no harm done."

:LMAO:

Does anyone remember when we played Stoke away on my 21st Birthday?

We won 7-0, what a birthday present! Their new stadium had just opened, I remember one of their fans running onto the pitch to try and punch former Port Vale favourite Jon McCarthy after he scored.

I went to meet my mate in the Square Peg before the game saturday to sort some business out. Place was full of their fans. Standing on the tables singing etc. When they had the balls to sing "Birmingham is a ****hole", really?

How they can say anywhere is a ****hole is beyond me.

That place truly is a dump.

Its one of those rules like the multi ball rule that it has to apply to both home and away players. Like in that instance the towel wasn't given to Ridge they take the towels off all of them.
