to be fair I have read a few shef message boards and they are right - they have a deman for tickets, we dont, we wont give them extra tickets so they are buying in our end....it doesnt make sense! footie is a business as well as a sport and entertainment, we should supply the tickets for the deman that they have...ie SUPPLY and DEMAND, the basis and solid bedrock of most companies and businesses. In terms of the cup in not suprised...wasnt it hull and wigan last season who, both being in the prem, had a 4th round tie (I think it was...could have been a 3rd round tie) and had 3k turn up...tha was home AND away combined...3k for an all prem fa cup clash! |

So little thought goes into the pricing for these games. We could've agreed with Wednesday for them to have the whole of the Gil Merrick Lower. We could've sold tickets for £10 adults and £5 kids. We'd have made a similar amount of money, but doubled the attendance and had a cracking atmosphere. < < |

FA rules stipulate in games like this not arrangements between the 2 sides. I don't mind Wednesday fans in the Blues end, the more the merrier I say! Anyone who gets angry with anyone cos they are cheering for another side wants their head looking in. Ten years ago a group of us went up to Bramall Lane and ended up going in the home end. It was the game I think we lost 3-0 with Peschisolido scoring 2 for them. Reason we went in home end was to each save six quid as it was only £12 in the home end and £18 in the away end. Same season queueing up at the Leppings Lane end at Hillsborough feeling slightly tipsy after a few Boxing Day tipples and ended up going in the wrong turnstiles and sitting in the side stand next to the Leppings Lane end. I hadn't noticed on the way in cos everyone was wearing blue and white. Probably be much the same tommorow, due to colours no-one will notice until the goals go flying in. Horsfield scored and we won 1-0 that day. The only time Ive celebrated in the wrong end was Tranmere away the same season somehow I ended up in the home end near the family stand. All the other times Ive been able to keep it together. Dozens of my mates were in the Villa end that first night we played them in the Prem, glad I was in the away end as Id have struggled that day to contain myself. |

Is there any way I can still get £15 tickets, it says you can prior to matchday but they're down as £20 on ticketmaster? |

I had that problem last round. I rang the ticket office who 'advised' I purchase it over the phone. Ticketmaster cannot chargee the reduced price once your reserved seat goes to somebody else... |

I was going to post the same concerning the ticket prices. To be honest we are half the size club of either of the sheffield teams in everything other than league position. We should have given them all the GM stand and half the Kop. If they have more fans in the ground than us , then thats our problem , at least the club get some money in. I hate to say this but getting to the semi and only selling half our tickets is going to really show us up for what we are becoming................... A small club near Walsall!!!!! :crying: |

That's ******. Swap our position with Wednesday. Give us 10 years in the doldrums and we would take a shed load to an away game at a Premier League ground. We had 10'000 at Anfield in January 2002 3rd round match FFS! We had 8'000 at Anfield in 1995 5th Round replay. Fact is this is a massive game in an awful season to forget for Wednesday. For Blues it is not. I am going and can't understand people not WANTING to be there as the Coventry game was an exciting game to watch. Fact is people are really struggling financially and cannot afford all the games at the moment. Many will have budgeted for the Stoke, Man City and/or West Brom games around the League Cup Final and will be left without the funds to afford this game against Wednesday. The Newcastle game was virtually sold out as sales were in the run up to Xmas otherwise that crowd would have taken a battering as well. The way the club admin are conducting things now (which is a damn sight and better than how it was under Sully and Brady) will hopefully encourage more season ticket holders next season which should see the average attendances rise slightly. Cup games I dont know what the answer is. Crowds are random in cup games. Forest away last season we had 6'000 as it was a Saturday, sales were in the run up to Xmas, sales were on for a couple of weeks in advance and everyone loves a nice weekend in Nottingham. Had it been a replay on a Tuesday night at somewhere unappealing like Stoke it would have been less of a draw even though in 1998 when we won 7-0 we filled that whole away end 5'500 at Stoke but that was a Saturday, a league game etc etc. |

I know we complain about our own attendances, but to put this into comparison at the Wigan vs Bolton match last week they had an attendance of 7600. It wasn't on sky and it was a league game. I know people will say well Birmingham has ten times the population etc, but even so.. |

Yep, Was at all thoses games and understand the point, you could include last years cup run to forrest and derby etc. Newcastle was due to free tickets and kids for a quid. I brought 10 to that game , my 4 season tickets and 6 free ones. Yes, fully understand that people are struggling for money these days, but I don't think Sheffield is full of walking millionaires!!!! Three clubs in a city less than half the size of ours with 2 giants of the game in Leeds and manc close by, look at there crowds!!!!! My post wasn't a kick at our fans, it was a realistic picture at the size of our club. It doesn't bother me, I will still go and we are a much bigger and better club than when I still went when there was under 4k for home games. ( Thanks to the last board). But we are where we are. Is it 24th in the all time list, maybe position and fan base , that is a top 4 championship side. |

£20 a ticket and people are moaning, it costs £17 to see kiddy & solihull moors. Fair enough half of the 20,000 that have been to stoke and newcastle this week struggling with this one but the extra 15,000+ that are going/wanting to go should have no excuse not to go. We should be able to fill our own ground with minimum 14,000 every week. My mate got a ticket today and the ladt at the ticket office told him including wednesday fans there is just over 10,000 sold so far- thats less than 6000 blues. |

15th in the all time list actually - League crowds wise. That does not include all our massive FA Cup crowds over the years. |
