Got to be happy with the final result.

Now we simply have to beat the Baggies next week.

Yes

Best result for BCFC was a draw between the Baggies and The Dingles

We need to beat The Albion in a couple of weeks

I reckon if we can get to 39 points we'll be safe **thumbup

We have another game in hand away at Chelsea now :D

everyone in the bottom half of the table is still technically in the religation battle.

i just think that blues have enough quality to stay up and once we catch up on our games in hand we will be well clear of the drop zone. blues are probably in the strongest position of all the teams in the bottom half of the table given our games in hand, run in and moral boosting cup runs.

the only thing that could go wrong is that our cup run could lead to a pile up of fixtures that could come back to bite us. but i still think we've got enough about us to stay up.

i think blues have easily enough to stay up to be honest, i am not so sure about playing so many cup games though. obviously its great to be in finals but they can take their toll.

Tosh !

We have ONE game in hand - away at Everton. We will have two games in hand after this weekend, the other away at Chelsea. How many guaranteed points will that bring us ?

Come back down to earth and realise we will probably still have the same number of points as we have now, even after our game(s) in hand and be in a relegation battle.

plus a game in hand from our game against bolton and another for the semi if we get past them.

i'm not saying we will win any of them. but if we are still outside the bottom 3 with 2 games in hand after this weekend then you can't say we're not in a stronger position then all of the teams around us.

There are no Prem fixtures arranged for the dates of the sixth round of the FA Cup.

I think the point is, by the time we have caught up with the games in hand, we will also have played WBA and Wolves at home i think.

In theory, by about the 31 game mark i think we will be safe(ish)

yeah. after this weekend we will be outside the drop zone with 2 games in hand over everyone around us.

as i have said, we are in a much stronger position then any of the other relegation candidates so i am very confident of us staying up.

A little bit

But nowhere near as twitchy as the Baggies fans

Just face up to it, maulley

Your club are dropping like a rock from a cliff .....You'll have to hope The Blackpool Rock drops a little quicker......Pun intended **thumbup

i cant speak for all baggies fans but i am not twitchy at all. if we go we go. will still be there next season what ever happens. just if we do go down i can see them more often, it will be cheaper, they will win more the only problem is its harder to get away tickets cause some of the grounds are smaller. i am being very honest when i say i dont want to finish 4th from bottom year after year. and from what i saw on sunday hodgson is going to make us one boring team.

We'd (almost) all like Baggies and Blues to stay up - I love the local derbies.

I wish I could stay on after the Cup to see the WBA game but can't at least it'll be on live on TV here.

I've said it a million times and I'll say it again

I'd love both the Wolves and the Albion to stay up this season.....while those 12 toed inbred 'no marks' in pink and baby blue from B6 went down

It would do them good.......Blues, Albion and Wolves have all endured the drop recently even more than once.....it's high bloomin' time the Vilers had a turn

me too, its cheaper, easier to get tickets, score 100 goals, win loads of games and big promotion party at the end. oh and millions of quids for going back up. and guess what we wont only turn up when they get to a cup final.
we all go down, we all go down, we all go down together,
come back up and win the cup and kick **** out the villa.
KRO. see you at wembley. :blues: just for the day.

i know thats your opinion maulley, but wouldn't you rather stick it out in the prem for a few years and try to slowly build so you can play the kind of football you want to see in the best league in the country?

at the end of the day you can play the best football in the world, but unless it's against quality oposition it doesn't mean anything. wouldn't you rather watch aresnal and man u at the hawthornes instead of coventry and bristol?

i get what you are saying, but as i have said before i think that is just the easy way out. anyone can get to a level where they win every week, but unless you try to push on and improve it's meaningless.

bcfc06 you are absolutely correct, every team in the country has fans that come out of the woodwork to go to wembley. in the playoff against derby we took about 40,000 but the average gate at the albion is around 22,000. in 68 over 100,000 applied for cup final tickets and again the average gate was about 21,000. i have always said blues, wolves and villa have always had bigger crowds than albion, thats fact. that doesnt mean they are bigger clubs though.
ringo, the point i am probably trying to make is we are not good enough for the premiership yet, and anyone who thinks we are is nuts. for a start we need a new owner and hodgson is definatly not the right man to manage albion. so in my opinion it would be better to go back down, have a good sort out both team wise and behind the scenes and start again, only this time be serious about it.
but agaib i am a football fan and it really is great to see blues in a final, i hope its two. but if you think its hard getting league cup tickets believe me its a nightmare getting fa cup ones. on the outside looking in i dont think blues have handled ticket applications very well so far.
best wishes anyway, maulley.

i dont like baggies at all, but can clearly see your team is more than capable of competing in the premier league.. apart from possibly a couple of times i dont think you've exactly been dominated by any one team this season, and you are capable of beating any team at the hawthorns on your day, you play good football, if you tightened up at the back you wouldnt be to far off at all imo... i dont see why you wouldnt want to see your team testing themselves against the big boys each week.

Maulley, all your lot need is a bit of defensive strength.

Hodgson will probably bring that, albeit, at a cost to your gung ho, nice football... but it will grind out results like he did at Fulham im sure.

Hodgson will just want to keep you up this season, before stamping his mark in the summer, by strengthening the back line...

Id much rather that happen, if I was in your shoes, than go down, lose the Prem quality players you do have, and be back at square one again.

i really appreciate what you guys are saying, but remember i see them quite often, and when you analyse the team there are only a couple of players of premiership quality.
i think brunt, maybe morrison and maybe thomas, but morrison and thomas are inconsistent. i suppose at a push mulumbu, but thats it.
even odemwhingie misses 4 chances for each one he scores.how do you expect to survive with only 4 decent players.
also agree if they can avoid relegation they can rebuild but the chairman expects to get about 5 premiership class players for a total of about 6 million. he lives in another world, its not worth the struggle.
we had a couple of great wins at arsenal and everton but we just caught them on their bad day, we could play them twenty times and get a point.
then we lost at home to stoke.
wigan, west ham and wolves at home = 3 points if you cant beat them you are not premiership class.
