To my dear Father - David John Barron who sadly died aged 46 in September 1992. I'm so sad you couldn't be there with me to cheer the boys on but I'm sure you'll be sitting on top of Wembley in spirit. All of my family were brought up in Small Heath so next weekend will be an emotional afternoon - especially if we win. Weird to think that this time next week it'll be all over and we'll be talking about the game. RIP Dad. KRO and SOTV. |

There will be so many of us with loved ones that didn't get the chance to see our team play at Wembley. Hopefully they are all there watching and they all enjoy it as much as we will. |

Agree so much with your sentiments V. Lost my Dad two days after we beat West Ham to get to Wembly, he knew we got there and as a lifelong Blue would have so loved to have seen us play at the new Wembly and hopefully lift the cup. Hope he gets a good view from his arm chair in the Sky. Sure he would have smiled seeing me queuing for hours to get my ticket! So wish I could share the build up to the match with him....... RIP KRO and win for all our Dads |

A well put post, V, and to you others. My Dad is 72, he first took me down the Blues over 40 years ago, so I've paid for his ticket, I really hope the boys can do it for him on Sunday. He was there in '56, and I was with him in '75 at Maine Road v Fulham. Along with many other games there has been too much hurt for this club. So to all the Dads in the sky, and those in the autumn of their Blue nose days, KEEP RIGHT ON TO THE END OF THE ROAD. |

Same with you MGB, my Dad is 72 and was there in '56 as well. Taking him and my 8 year old son. He can hardly remember anything about it, bad memories fade fast! He's just recovering from chemo and radio therapy and knows this could be his last one. I raise a :lager: to all those who didn't make it after waiting for so long. |

Thanks for all the sentiments guys - the feelings are likewise. I just hope that we lift this trophy. This club needs success - proper success. The last game my Dad went to was the infamous Leeds '85 before he was took ill. He had a heart-attack at 38, suffered brain damage (due to being unconscious for too long) and was ill for the next 6 years before he had another heart attack. The sad thing was that he couldn't remember any of us after he recovered - but he remembered music and would often sing KRO. I remember pinning a picture of the Leyland Daf Cup winning team on his hospital room wall after we won the cup in 1991. At least he never got to see or remember the dismal days of the late 80's whilst he was in hospital when the club went into decline. KRO |

v mate they will be there right beside us and when we lift the cup all the grey murky skies will clear and a shaft of light will fall upon our faces and we will feel the love we once had for our dads, sons and family members who we loved but now are lost, infact you will see a lot of grown men breakdown and cry, just like me now |

I agree with you there mate. I remember shedding a tear when Darren Carter scored that penalty in 2002. I will probably do the same if we win on Sunday. I don't care how we do it. |
