Well I was looking forward to seeing a good Blues video in the lead up to the cup final what did we get quite a lot of self pitying drivel really.
I am sick to death of the people recounting past so called sorrows. Rubbish the last league cup final was great for the club. We didnt quite have enough on the day to overcome Liverpool but we matched them on the pitch. I loved it and congratulate everyone who played that day but unfortunately we didnt quite get the cup.

Everton v Birmingham FA cup final was before my time but Im sure the Blues fans loved it. Everton beat us I think in a replay with Blues having a good goal disallowed in the first match but that was the way it went.

On Sunday Birmingham City will play Arsenal at wembley because they have won the right to be there. I will absolutely love that day no matter what the outcome. I am optimistic and look forward to playing our best against Arsenal and if we do that we could cause an upset.

Lets us go out there positive, express ourselves and play our best.

Let Birmingham City football club no longer be a place known for sorrow.

Blues have never played Everton in the Fa cup final, or any final for that matter. Birmingham`s record attendance is against the toffee men, maybe you mean that cup-tie ?

Well my failure to know 100% Blues history maybe it was Manchester City. I'll have to look it up should not deter from my message.

The team has done well to get us to wembley. We deserve to be there.
We have the players capable of keeping a clean sheet as well as scoring not one but three or four goals at wembley. We just have to stay calm, be positive, create chances and take them.

Come on Blues.

the lows, the nearlys, the tears - maybe im being overly sentimental here.but thats what has always symbolised Blues.
Other clubs wouldn't understand that kind of mentality but i love Blues because of the way our fans keep bouncing back year after year relegation after promotion...
I like 31,000 other Bluenoses will be there on Sunday easily outsinging the Red half win or lose.
Just want to say - i love the city,i love the club and i love my dad for making a Blue for life!

i was`nt criticising your knowledge of Blues history , just stating a fact. I should of realised you meant the 1956 final against Man city. But i did appreciate the point and meaning of your original post. Keep right on!

Don’t apologise they haven’t agreed with you yet that you’re right. Saying that it’s an easy mistake to make after a while all those finals blend into one.

Well I dont want to keep bouncing back. I want us to change our ethos into a positive, optimistic, exciting club where quality attacking football is played.

I want to go out there and win football matches, cups and league titles then I want to do it again, again, again and AGAIN.

...and again, and again....

Absolutely wrong this game is a great oppoortunity to get silverware. We are also in the quarter finals of the FA cup and able to climb the league.

We have an excellent board, an excellent manager and excellent team and fantastic fans. We will continue to improve and excel. This game is the next match in the Blues success story.

1975 actually

We also lost to Leeds at Hillsborough in 1972

Funnily enough a lot of people rarely ever mention another semi final defeat to Leeds United.....The League Cup of 1996 (Barry Fry era just before TF took over).....we would have faced the Villa in the Final had we won instead

Sorry,i meant 1975, was thinking of `68 when we lost to albion. Obviously blues didn`t play two fa cup semi-finals against two different teams in the same year.Still need the counselling me thinks.

No but we had lost in the League Cup semis the year before against 'Rodney Marsh' pity we would have meet the Albion in the final.........
did you know Barry Bridges scored that night after 10 minutes against 3rd Div QPR?..............still lost 4-1.........
we have been a great cup side over the years..........Please God can it be this year.................. **thumbup

Yes, i didn`t go that night but i`m old enough to remember that year, blues lost 7-1 on aggregate and , if they had beaten QPR, would have faced the baggies in the first wembley league cup final. The albion blew a two goal lead in the final, allowing third division rangers to win the trophy.A year later un-fancied Swindon beat the mighty Arsenal to win the league cup, so this competition is littered with examples of the under-dogs triumphing.I feel Blues are alot closer to the arsenal than the two examples i mentioned simply because both finalists are premier league teams.

Tony, Tony, Tony I've no problem with you being optimistic but your posts should have a little bit of reality about them. The way you're going you will be telling us we have played Everton in a final again.
