Sky Sports have interview Seb ahead of the cup final on Sunday and he talks about how he thinks Barry Ferguson will be a vital player for us against Arsenal.

Only problem I have with it is the sub header says "Blues winger believes captain will shine at Wembley"

and then the opening paragraph states: "Birmingham City winger Sebastian Larsson believes captain Barry Ferguson can lead the club to Carling Cup glory against Arsenal on Sunday.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11694_6775151,00.htm

Is this just poor journalism from Sky Sports or have I missed the moment when Stephen Carr handed over the armband?

I'd say it is inaccurate journalism. Stevie Carr will be the one to lift the Cup on Sunday. **thumbup

This would be the icing on the cake for me!!

However, I think Sky are a year too early. Baz is captain-elect! :D

I heard that Ferguson was given the captain's armband - but he kept 'passing it back' to a defender.

Well we are all entitled to our opinion eh! :)

My £ is on Baz being the next Blues captain though. Particularly if Big Eck is the manager. He's made Baz captain of Rangers & Scotland. And it's no secret how highly they think of each other!

Time'll tell eh!

I think Roger johnson would be a terrible club captain. Far too selfish and big-headed.

But a great defender.

I totally disagree pal. Maybe you have seen something I haven't (perfectly reasonable opinion), but actually I have found he is a really big team player, he doesn't shout his mouth off to the press like a lot of players and I agree that he could well be the captain in future.

With regards to this article, the Times said at the weekend that Stephen Carr was 'stand-in' captain for the match... news to me! Has been captain all season!

Carr's a legend and I love having him as captain, and i hope he has at least another season in him to carry on in that capacity.

When Stephen eventually re-retires Bazza (if he's still around) would be the most obvious heir, though Ridgey, Gardner, Dann or Roger would all do well in the role.

I know it is always rumour, but Roger isn't the easiest to get on with on the training ground apparently.
Also, take when he was substituted on Saturday - nobody could talk to him. He was to self-absorbed.

Steven Carr (or Ferguson) can put the team before themselves more easily, which I think is the most important part of being a captain.

Gardner has got to be captain as a Bluenose. Like Gerrard for Liverpool. After Carr retires though. Carr has been amazing and deserves to lead us out. Fergie has been great too but Carrs more calmer and rarely loses his temper except Villa away lol. KRO!!!!

Only club RJ will be captain of is a championship side. There is no way he is Captain material.

Fergie is a born leader and I think Seb is referring to the fact that Fergie is like a captain on the park even though he aint got the armband.

I believe the only people who will be in for the job will be Fergie first of all and then Scott Dann (Millwall Game Captain)

Whoever it is, Eck will make sure it is the right person!!!

Amazingly enough Fergie6 I agree with you! < <

Baz may not have the captain's armband but he's still the same old Baz, passionate, moany & bossy. Wouldn't have him any other way! Born leader Baz. Really would have loved him the be captain on Sunday!

And take the armband off Carr. That's fair and not at all biased lol. Carr has been nothing short of amazing and if he lifts the trophy I'll be so proud of him. After coming out of retirement and doing what he has it would be a fairytale ending to a great career. KRO!!!!
