I have being monitoring google news to keep an eye out for news on Blues first major final at Wembley in over 50 years but know it is all about Arsenal's chance of lifting there first piece of silverware in 5 years.

I really can't believe how little coverage we are getting in the press it seems the Birmingham Mail/Post are the only ones interested in us.

I know the national press is London based but it seems this final is really all about Arsenal and we are just there to be the whipping boys for this great "Arsenal side" take Fabregas injury and withdrawl this evening (over 1000 articles in 3 hours about him missing the final). Walcott nearly generated as much as well.

Take for instance, what about our defence Jiranek and Ridgewell not certainties to be fit for Sunday (hopefully they will be) and they will be just a big a loss to us as the Arsenal absentees are to them

I can just imagine how upset all the journos are going to be when we win on Sunday and they have to give us at least a couple of paragraphs in a 2 page article about the match the rest will be about how unlucky Arsenal were but they probably had Barca match on there mind anyway.

Still there is always Friday/Saturday/Sunday papers to balance the coverage out..

SkySportsNews were running a story about the Birmingham fans 'day out' to Wembley; a smug complacent attitude that I hope seeps into the Arsenal dressing room.
It hasn't occurred to them that we are going there to play football and that better teams than Arsenal have failed to beat Birmingham City this season - good, pressure on Arsenal, pressure off Blues.

Cannot see what the problem is, on the basis we are a small provisional club, with very few fans outside of the city - apart from those who have lived here and moved away then influenced family members to support us . Clubs like Blackburn and Bolton are in the same situation. Whereas, Arsenal are a massive club recognised around the world so can attract fans the way Man U or Liverpool do. The national papers and Sky need to appeal to as many readers and viewers as possible, focusing on the blues will not achieve this. Sadly we are not AC Milan but at least most Tottenham fans will be supporting us on Sunday!!

Lol. The national press still think that we're the ones that lit the flare on Dec 1st. Let's go and win the game and see how they like reporting that, the ****s.

Just watched Sky Sports News - the 2 lines of current breaking news they have across the bottom of the screen - Under league cup they had 6 pages about Arsenal re Fabregas and Walcott being out, van Persie and several others being in - then NOT A SINGLE MENTION OF US AT ALL! Bar-stewards!

He's just doing his job at the end of the day... It's a story, and it will make the papers.

It's hardly a dig, just something stupid thats happened and people will read about it.

As a future journalist (fingers crossed) I cant believe it took me a year of Uni to realise how disliked most journalists seem to be!

What is Moxley's username on here by the way, completely missed the topic, might PM a question or two if he would be nice enough to take a couple of minutes to read!

Neil Moxley took part in a discussion on here not long ago

It got a bit heated and then of course deleted.....but The Mods re-instated after a few appeals

I've searched back and found it

Super Kev or Craig Gardner to rattle in the winner in the 85th minute to win the cup leaving the whole country & the national press silent except for the Birmingham & Tottenham fans.

Believe

I don't mind the fact that they concentrating on Arsenal as they have the bigger profile and will attract more punters, but what is really winding me up is the constant bilge that Blues should just be happy with a day out in London (cos obviously none of us have ever been 'up' to the capital before) and be thankful for that. Even Tom T oss has come out with such rubbish, but the worst offender for patronising Blues is failed-musician-and-ex-Lloyds-Bank-Shirley-employee Ian Danter on talksport: totally repeating the lucky to be here line.
Dants: I seem to remember that at Solihull 6th Form in the eighties you had no interest in football, in fact you once remarked that anyone who missed lessons to catch a Tuesday night league fixture in Southend was 'sad'. Up the Blues, eh?

You have to remember colin that gooners fans pay more for their Sky Subscription than Blues' Fans do

It's like Soccer Saturday and the Band of Self Indulgents....
The 'hub cap brigade' have taken up about 60% of the air time over the past six months....
I remember Phil Thomson start talking about Benitez every week....
I flicked across to another channel and 20mins later flicked back and he was still talking....
So I switched off and a week later tuned into Soccer Saturday again and guess what?
Thommo is still talking about the hub cappers....
Now I don't even know if he stopped talking in between or not....
But in the following weeks it was about liverpool's performance, Roy Hodgson on his appointment, the take over, Roy Hodgson on his sacking, kenny dalgleish, the fans ..zz..
And every time I tuned in Thommo was there still talking!
Do they not realise that there are other teams in the Country and that Liverpool represents less than 1% of the footballing interest?
Did Blues get the same coverage when Brucie left, Eck was appointed, the Take Over, our amazing Season so far....
If any of the top 5 had got to the Carling Cup Final and the FA Cup Quarter Finals I sense that they may have got a mention - providing Thommo had managed to stop talking :banghead:

9 whole minutes of coverage on national radio! Got to love Trevor, he has a feeling Birmingham will score the only goal and it will come in the 90th minute :P What a legend. You can sense the excitement in his voice as well.
