It's amazing how many times a team playing in midweek ahead of a cup final picks up injuries that cause their players to miss the big game, and unfortunately that is exactly what happened to Arsenal against Stoke.
Theo Walcott is out of the Carling Cup final against Birmingham and you cannot see Gunners boss Arsene Wenger picking Cesc Fabregas if there is a risk of him missing the second leg of their Champions League tie with Barcelona on 8 March.
Since Birmingham defender Scott Dann got injured in the first leg of his side's semi-final against West Ham on 11 January, the Blues have looked very vulnerable at the back. They have started to concede goals cheaply when previously their defence was one of their strengths.
But, at the same time, they have started to score more freely too and Nikola Zigic has started to look a better player, even if he is never going to be particularly easy on the eye.
Because Wembley is such a big pitch, I think Arsenal's pass-and-move style will get them the win but I don't expect Birmingham to make it easy for them.
Arsenal have not won a trophy for six years but they can be a bit like London buses - you don't get one for ages, and then another one turns up straight away. The Gunners are also going for the Premier League, Champions League and the FA Cup and I wouldn't rule out them winning another one of those too, but they will not win all of them.

Arsenal haven't won a trophy for SIX YEARS! MY GOD! HOW AWFUL FOR THEM!

We're still in the hunt for the Carling Cup, FA Cup and Premiership :blues:

I may be wrong but I thought we had actually started to ship the dodgy goals WITH Dann in the team alongside Johnson and that we actually seemed to have shored the defence up a little since Jiranek came back into the team?
