Agree - not one other man on the pitch including Ferguson could have done what he did today - top play

Ensured we won the match today.

Came on and gave us a presence on the ball past the half way line, relieved pressure on ferguson and the defence. Great ball for Gardner's goal. Able to beat a man, hold the ball up and deliver important passes.

We have missed him ALOT.

That's why he went to Arsenal and Barcelona - classy with a football brain. We should be finding a way to play him every week!

Fertguson is not nearly in Hleb's class. Rolf Harris v Rembrandt in my view.

Thats what I was expressing but Ferguson is probably the second best player at ball control mixed with passing.

I do like Hleb, and wonder what might have been had he not been so unfortunate with injuries this season. It doesn't mean that it's an opportunity to have a go a Barry Ferguson though. You may as well compare Michael Carrick to Wayne Rooney.

Why the negativity against Barry,he is playing with broken ribs.
To compere him with Hleb is just is not right.
Barry is a holding Midfielder were as Hleb is a attacking midfielder,,

Great ball to Derbyshire as well, shame he couldn't finish it, but tbf to him it was probably his first touch since coming on.

Hleb is a class act, he can pick a pass that no other player in our squad can.

Only problem is that in a relegation dogfight, you need midfielders prepared to get stuck in and throw bodies in the way of shots, rather than a wimp without shinpads.

If we can get him on loan next year, fully fit, in a better more attacking team he would be great. Its case of right player wrong time atm

Agreed, that was a massive moment for him to prove his worth but he failed :-(

Although 3-0 would have been the harshest result in prem history! Lol

He's been injured - nothing to do with McLeishes decision making.

 , moaning after a very important win today?

Lee Bowyer scored a goal last week, was impressive vs Bolton the week before... and does a bloody good job for the TEAM in tracking back, getting stuck in and can keep the ball/pass well enough too.

Hleb is a luxury player, that teams like us struggle to accomodate, as when your down the bottom end of the table, you have to battle away... theres no denying Hleb is a classy player, with a great footballing brain, but when you need the 10 players infront of the keeper pressing the opposition and not be frightened to put a foot in, its hard to find any room for him.

He's perfect to bring on at 1-0 up, when the opposition are forced to go for it, as he can exploit the spaces left by them committing more forward.

All that, plus Hleb's been out injured for a long time..

In your opinion Mikael. in mine he is over the top, Has been one of our best playsince he joined, but he (Lee Bowyer) is very wastefull now with the ball, he is not a winger and so why does he play there, what we was crying out for today was some width as up the middle was too hard for the front two, except the first 10 minutes.
So you say what you think and I'll say what I think......... < <
I was at Blackburn when he scored that vital goal... **thumbup

He certainly did enough to earn himself a start on wednesday. 4-5-1 same back five, same midfield that started today but with hleb given a free role and headless upfront. Sorted. **thumbup

Hleb is an excellent player. If someone thinks Hleb could manage a full 90 minutes at the moment having not played for over 2 months your having a laugh. McLeish
was totally right to give him the nod. Furthermore Bowyer is better defensively than Hleb and we had to be careful of Sunderland's attacking play.

Hleb did have a good game Im really pleased for him and us. It's wont do him any harm showing his talent and We deserve some good performances from him.

Well done Hleb keep it up mate.

I'd gamble with Hleb against Chelsea. Okay, he's not the battler we need at times but genuinely good footballers like Hleb go better against footballing teams like Chelsea.

In reality, we're probably not going to win anyway, so why not try starting with him?
