Foster - 10 - immense saves Carr - 8 - solid Johnson - 9 - immense Ridgewell - 9 - same as Johnson Parnaby - 7 - good defending but needs to look forward with the ball Larsson - 10 - great vision, runs, splitting passes and defensive work... really deserved his standing ovation Ferguson - 6 - not his best game, caught in possession quite often Gardner - 10 - worked hard defnsively and yet another screamer. Bowyer - 6.5 - got about the pitch, lacked quality today Phillips - 6 - quiet by his standards, didn't have much service Jerome - 8 - won every ball, good ball control, played excellent through balls again Hleb - 10 - WOW... Walked around their team and created Gardner's chance. Should be starting next week. Derbyshire - 0 - one easy chance to slot a ball home and he failed again. Send him back to Greece please. Fans - 10 - good attendance again, KRO before kickoff was deafening! KRO!!! |

Yes ok i very much doubt we'll see him in a Blues shirt next season but thats not a vaild reason to give him such a low score around here..... Jerome gets away with missing sitters week in week out and still gets ratings of 6/7 Im sorry but nearly 29 hours of league football without a goal for a striker is a pathetic record! Derbyshire is a better finisher than Jerome FACT! Missing sitters isn't a bad thing around here i dont think  |

Jerome brings a lot more to the team, he's created loads of goals and works his arris off. Derbyshire on the other hand is just a complete non-entity. |

Give Derbyshire the chances Jerome has missed this season and I guarentee he sticks more than half of them away, you can not argue the fact that workrate alone is good enough for a STRIKER he is payed a lot of money to score goals, yes thats not all his meant to do but its about 80% of his job role. And since we have singed him, he's been our main striker and hasn't imporved at all. A team in our position can not afford to have players continuosly missing chances i'd expect a sunday league player to put away, as soon as the ball lands at his feet he panics and either loses control (a regular occurance) or pans his stop over, wide, out for a throw.... Anywhere but between the sticks! If we stay up we really need to pick up a better striker and either get rid or only have him on the bench.... Hes a Championship standard player at best! |

Foster - 9 - Didn't do much wrong Carr - 7 - Put Ferguson in an awkward position first half but rest of the game decent Johnson - 10 - Immense, worked his socks off and covered the back four all game Ridgewell - 8 Didn't seem to do much wrong, I never really noticed him much that game. Parnaby - 8 Clever defending at times but there was a lack of communication 1st half Larsson - 10 - Deserved MOTM, worked his socks off and deserves a new contract 100% Gardner - 8 - Great Strike and a few good switches Ferguson - 8 - Kind of almost cost us a goal first half but then picked himself up Bowyer - 7 - Work ethic brilliant all game, poor first half let him down :banghead: Jerome - 8 - Worked hard all game again won a few headers, never got a clear goalscoring opportunity though. Phillips - 6 - couldn't play very well against their back four, got out-strengthed all game apart from one chance in the second half Subs: Hleb - 8 - Superb when he came on created Gardners goal brilliantly and almost created for Derbyshire Fahey - 7 - Beautiful touch when he came on off the long ball but didn't have much time to do much else Derbyshire - 6 - looked lively but his chance was pretty easy and he scuffed it, he had the time to put it on his right and bend it round the keeper or take it on his left in the near post. EDIT: I thought it was Bowyer with ball to Derbyshire - don't know where I thought he got his pace from ;) |

Kez89 You are wasting your breath on here I think this forum should be re-named the Cameron Jerome Appreciation Forum as it is filled with all his relatives and dare I say it people who really do not understand what the word STRIKER means. Week after week after week we see him missing decent chances and a hatful of 50/50 chances, surely 50/50 means half the time he should score !! If he worked in any other industry he would have been fired years ago. |

yeah and the chance that Jerome missed was initiated by pace and power- it was by no means easy but the point is Derbyshire wouldn't have had the werewithal to get there in the first place. As for the guy who rated ferguson at 8 I'd like to have whatever he's on- he's was awful. Just as was last week. |

Totally agree, apart from I'd give Ferguson a 6. Thought he went missing for a while in the second half and I got frustrated with his unambitious passing today. Many times he was in space and could've looked forward, yet went sideways and backwards. |

Ferguson going sideways and backwards, Willy? Why are you surprised? That's what he always does, that's his game. |

I'd also point out that Carr let the ball bounce over his head four or five times, especially in the first half, putting the whole defence under pressure. Made up for it a little bit in the second half, but still not a great game by his standards. No more than a 6 from me. Ferguson and Gardner were also very guilty of letting their midfield get the better of them for most of the game. They did have an extra man, but that is no excuse to disappear into the back four (Ferguson) or just disappear (Gardner). Only when Hleb came on did they look to impose themselves a little more. And I do hope that today was a wake up call for those who were of the opinion that playing Phillips and 442 would automatically result in a win. |

got to disagree, though the KRO at kick off was loud, apart from that until the 2nd goal went in it was painful. Even after the first goal couldn't get any better than a half hearted KRO. For a big game i was disappointed, it was as if i was sitting in the paddocks. For the first half people seemed to be more interested in the action in the stands rather than on the pitch. Once Gardner got his goal though, party mode set in and the tilton was buzzing. Loved the waving at Eck. Thought the general performance was poor today, the defence was admirable, chucking bodies in front of the ball typified by the scramble which ended up in Johnson clearing off the line. Probably the most one-sided 2-0 defeat sunderland will ever have! But who cares about the performance, at this point it means nothing. All that matters is we got a priceless 3 points today. KRO and We Are Staying Up |

Foster 9 Carr 5 Parnaby 3 Ridgewell 5 RJ 9 Larsson 8 Bowyer 4 Ferguson 4 Gardner 7 Phillips 4 Jerome 5 subs Hleb 9* MOTM Derbyshire Not enough time Blues are their own worse enemies. We give the ball away so easily it's ridiculous. Distribution of the ball from back to front is very poor. You could see the difference as soon as Hleb came on, suddenly, we had a player who wanted the ball at his feet and wasn't afriad to run with it and have the ability to create. He set up Gardners goal and created a chance for Derbyshire that he should have buried. |

:boohoo: You deny Phillips' and Jeromes' work ? That is what you are saying mate. Hleb replaced SuperKev on 63 minutes. Craig scored! ie Don't play SuperKev? What the hell is the point of rubbishing the team you claim to support? try...JUST ONCE...to support the club, The manager The board The players The Tea Lady To praise one player is fine - but you do not need to KNOCK our club or our players, mate. Go support Sydney Gay JockStraps or whatever.... :banghead: |

I think you just twisted his post mate it was a well and true valid point. We needed the type of player that is Hleb. Who does like to pick the ball up and can run with it. |
