Now first of all this is not meant really to be an anti-Jerome thread.

It just goes to show though that if Torres a 50m striker cant buy a goal then in some ways I can totally sympathise with Jerome. Time and time again the team puts him through but he just cant get any joy. Same with Torres.

You could see John Terry at the corner saying to Torres were going to pass to you just smack it in. Even the opposition defenders followed the script and backed off giving him time and space only to watch him fluff it in front of 40,000+. Poor chap he just wanted the ground to swallow him up.

At least with Jerome we always have his work rate and that never leaves him. He tackles back and in the previous two games has set up two goals which has helped us win 4 vital points approx 10% of our required points tally.

Even though Jerome's form in front of goal drives you mad no one can say he isnt contributing the 4 points from Blackburn and Bolton are absolute proof.

Jerome's effort is beating Torres hands down and for me pound for pound he is much the better striker at present.

Lord next time Jerome's through on goal....

Please, Please, Please Let him Score.

Amen.

:blues:

P.S With 50 million quid down the swanny Im sure Ancelotti will be in his confessional with his priest praying the same thing.

Torres is a world class player. His form will come. I'm sure Rooney had a similar run of form at the start of the season. Just hope he plays rubbish on Wednesday lol. KRO!!!!

Torress is not world class and has never been world class, you are only as good as your last dozen games and on that I would pick Jerome all day long. :blues:

Never heard of the saying "form is temporary, class is permanent" ?

Torres is a very good player at Champions League level. Jerome is an average player of Championship level.

Maybe if Jerome stopped back passing to the keeper and hit his shots with some power, he may score one day.

Oh dear.

As much as I like, and support Jerome to the hilt... How many international caps, goals and European Championships/World Cups has Jerome got/won, compared to Fernando Torres

torres is a great player who is having a nightmare at the moment, he probably cant wait for the season to end, but he will be back after a good summers rest and a pre season and i think he will score loads next season. goalscoring is all about confidence and he will get that back in the pre season friendlies. he scored some awesome goals at liverpool and you dont lose that for ever.

Watched the bottom - Liv match today and heard that Dirk Kuyt had earned another 3 year contract from King Kenny (theirs not ours1) who said that his workrate and movement was priceless to the team.

About time we appreciated Jerome more than we do. Top movement and a continual threat with his pace and physicality. OK, needs to learn the art of finishing, but the guy is very like Kuyt (check spelling) - we will miss him if he goes.

the thing that makes me chuckle is a certain mr van persie missed sitter after sitter today.

If cam misses one chance he is slaughtered. A much better player (supposedly) misses a hatfull of sitters in a game and the fans dontget on his back.

Top movement? :LMAO: :LMAO:
You're 'avin' a giraffe.
I think his movement is his biggest issue.
He is so easy to read. Luckily his blinding pace sometimes gets him through.
With his speed he should be awesome. Multi million pound strikers around the world would give anything for his pace. It's a bit wasted on him really.
He also very rarely turns and changes his run, and even more rarely turns and faces the midfield to link up.

That question is more ridiculous tbh, Odemwinge has 12 goals this season. Odemwinge all day every day

Torres has a world cup winners medal and a European Championship winners medal, and has scored goals for fun wherever he has been.... (Apart form at Chelsea obviously)......

Someone already pointed out.... "Form Is Temporary, Class Is Permenant".....

But if the class does not how then there is not much point eh?

Besides Odemwinge looks a bit of a class act, his finish v Chelsea was sublime.

Your opinion, he will not get another cap because there are far better strikers than him in the prem.
