Long will either be a Premiership player with Reading in a couple of weeks time or on his way to a much bigger club than us for megabucks if they don't get promoted.

He was superb against Cardiff tonight - as was the whole team.

Exactly....3 million, should have got him 26 goals this season and 23 years old.

Was he worth the risk this time last year though? Can he do it In the Premiership?

I've heard a few people say that Long hasn't been overly Impressive before this season for Reading... Not bad but not someone to rave about..... I'm not sure though, haven't really kept up with Championship football when we're In the Prem.....

He is really hitting form this year and will definitely be playing in the Premiership next year. If Reading do not go up I can see him joining the Irish contingent at Wolves. Very unlikely that he will be playing for us next season whatever division we end up in.

On my FM game (I'm managing Brindisi in 2013), Birmingham bought Shane Long in the 2010-2011 (i.e. this real world season) season for £4.2m. He made 23 appearances scoring 11 goals. In 11-12 he made 3 appearances and scored 0. Was on loan at Stoke 12-13 and made 0 appearances and has so far made 0 appearances in the 13-14 season.

In short, don't bother. ;)
