If Eck does depart

Has to be

1 - O'Neill
2 - Curbishley
3 - Allardyce
4 - Di Matteo

In that order

Yes! Though I would swap Sam and Roberto I think :)

I would go for Holloway bring some passion to the club

And League One football as well before you could say 'Muppet'

How can anyone in their right mind want some joker from the club who even finished below us :LMAO: ...and we had a League season to forget

You cannot be serious. :LMAO:

Enough of AM already ...

Allardyce would be more of the same (ie defence minded) ...

Let's get someone in who knows how to play a bit of attacking & entertaining football .. God knows we need it, after the dirge we've had to suffer this season !!

My vote is for O'Neill or Houghton ... or how about a punt on Brendan Rodgers or Brian McDermott ??

Not just this season.......
last season we played rubbish football (but as we had just come up we accepted that).
The last promotion season, we played some of the dullest football we have ever produced. We got promoted so accepted that.
Now we are back down, this brand of "football" can no longer be acceptable.

Keep Alex McLeish......why get rid of the best manager we have had for many years.......the problem why we went down is NOT scoring enough goals & that lies with...CJ....I was a Spurs today & at the end of the match he (CJ) got booed. ITS HIS FAULT !!!!!!!!!!!

Alex McLeish has won more things with Birmingham City than any other manager in 50 years. FACT.

Why on earth should we let him go?

That would be BLIND STUPID!!

:blues:

100% agree!!

He must stay. Got promotion before and will do so again.

Yh because lack of firepower with him helps him get 10+ a season doesn't it? Why do you think we only score from either Zig or a midfielder? Zigic only gets his goals because he is a tall person, he has little else abilty wise other than his little flicks.

If i`m honest, I would keep Mcleish as I don`t think theres too much out there thats better.
I really deep down believe that he has wanted to give us the sort of football that we want and get us scoring goals, but like bruce, he has without realising it, slipped into the old blood and thunder, clog the midfied with grafters approach(ferguson, bowyer, fahey, larson have been his particular favorites this season). This in turn has given us a negative, not very creative, score very few goals team, but was however, hard to beat.

It has been like it for years now, Bruce tried to change it by buying the likes of Gronkjaer, Izzet and Dunn... they fell by the wayside and were unsuccessful. The comparisons are there, Mcleish has tried it this season with Hleb, Beausjour and Bentley, again, they have had to make way for the old tried and trusted. Is just coincidence that our last 2 managers have had the same problem ?

Not sure what the answer is, if we got a manager in that has a reputation for playing decent football, would he be able to change it for us and get us scoring goals ????

What has Chris Hughton done that AMC hasnt???

Im not jumping on this band-wagon... he brought Newcastle back up from the championship, with a better squad than we had the season before... He got sacked from Newcastle when they was just above us, once again, with a better squad...

Im not for AMC staying on, but, i think we need a big name and not take a gamble.

I have a bad feeling the board cant afford to sack him, we'll start the season with mcleish.

interesting; i think McLeish knows this too. he was interviewed by BBC radio after our defeat and was asked if he'll consider his future and his words were that he would not as he has a very good contract with Blues.

he knows he can stay put until either West Ham come in for him and pay us compo - can't see that happening - or Yeung gets rid and pays him up. some might call it greedy, some might call it looking after number one.

personally - and i said so at the time - this board fell into the same trap as the last lot when we offered McLeish a good contract after just the one season. he didn't need one and had he not got one he could easily be let go of now.

i think we're stuck with him.

think there's some ridiculous suggestions - MON is one of them. fantastic manager but there's no way he needs to drop into the Championship at this stage of his career.

Allardyce the same - anyway think he could be headed for West Ham if Eck doesn't go.

the likely men would be Di Matteo or Houghton.

that said, i feel that part of the problem is the owners; there's a bad smell emanating from our club amongst the press, with all the money stories, and many would feel sorry for Eck if he were sacked - all the reports today were feeling sorry for him not so much us.

the worrying thing is that it would not surprise me if ECk left and Yeung bought in his own man from the Far East... that would not surprise me at all and that i find very disturbing.

In Eck you trusted

"Eck will be a legend", you so often said.

Well Alex McLeish has relegated us twice in three years 2008 and 2011. Now that is legendary, unfortunately for the wrong reasons.

In 50 years time he will be remembered who got us to our highest place finish and won us our first proper trophy.

Its not like we have been relegated before? This years relegation will wreck how he is remembered short term, but unless we get bought by billionaires and start wining the league every other year in 50 time blues fans will remember McLeish for all the right reasons.

i for one will never forget Feb 27th
