We can hypothesise all we like about Eck's team talks and half time motivation towards the players etc. But does he ever get angry with them I wonder? I always recall the superb documentary (would love to watch it again, any links to it anywhere anyone?) done on us when Barry Fry was the gaffer, and there was tea cups up the wall in the dressing room, shouting and bawling going on etc. And during the same period a post match pitchside chat with Claridge who'd outjumped everyone at a corner and headed home the winner, he said,"As that ball came over I just saw the gaffer's face on it and that inspired me to put the nut on it." I wonder if AM is that inspirational, ever? I have to inspire and motivate and mentor less experienced people as part of my job, and sometimes I throw the odd 'eff' into them, at the right time and place etc, and it seems to get the best out of them. I'm very experienced in my field and that helps, as it surely would for AM given his antecedents in the game, as it adds credence. I just wonder if he goes for the softly-softly approach, or the balls out approach, or both, or what? feed.back from anyone with knowledge or theory... |

Look at him, listen to him, take a look at his negativity both in front of the microphone and on the football pitch ---now ask yourself "would that motivate me?". |

I remember last season he said the first ten minutes of half time he would go off for a cup of tea in a different room and let the players talk amongst themselves about how the game has went. Saying the likes of Bowyer, Carr and RJ would rip into their teammates. McLeish would then go in to talk to them for a few minutes before they go back out. |

Don't know who it was, but somebody said something to the boys in our semi-final second leg against West Ham :blues: |

Only gaining 1 point out of the last 12 this month when we need them the most. Sums up all motivation he can possibly give. |

This. I don't question how motivated the players are, I question the mentality they're given. |

Not sure if AM had any influence on that win. How many times this season has West Ham played teams off the park and then fell apart for the final quarter? |
