I've said for a very long time now that I couldn't stand another season under McLeish. That, coupled with the fact it's actually been cheaper to buy single tickets in recent years has culminated in my decision not to renew my season ticket.

im another that wont go again till he is gone. not just a principal thing but the fact that imo we payed the worse football in the league and under him we will continue to do so, its not all about results it is about bein entertained too for the money we pay.
he picks the team and he sticks with a striker that has a grand tally of 3 goals this season.
KRO and all that but it really is time for a change to give us some new hope and expectations.... evn if we go back up we all know whats coming

The Chinese would have expected McLeish to do the honorable thing by resigning. But AM is not an honorable man. As he has already said 'I'm going nowhere..... I have a good contract at the club', which is all that matters to him!

So we'll once again be paying through the nose to suffer his boring style, poor team selection, nonsensical substitutions and, worst of all, Mr Magoo and his clone Fahey, playing pit-a-pat with the defence. We'll be lucky to average 14k fans next season.

Makes me laugh out loud listening to you lot blaming big Eck for our relegation. Nothing to do with the lack of investment? Smoke and mirrors in the boardroom? Injuries? Cup run resulting in a trophy?

Fickle fools. A few months ago you people were talking about a statue of the man outside the ground. Your all clowns and I'm ashamed to be associated with you.

I cannot believe some of the comments supporting A Mc Leish and his style of football. So I will just say cheerio and wish you all the best. IMO you are going to need it.

I'm just in disbelief how anyone who has been consistently to games over the last four years can think this is anything but a total disaster. It is genuinely the worst news I could have heard today.

It's been torrid I agree however I just can't point the finger at the manager alone. We have overachieved with this squad under him. I seriously believe that other factors cost us this season.

When I first read the Title , my first thoughts were ""My, The Samaritans phone lines will be busy today" .......and the suicide rate will likely increase in the West Midlands

Yesterday I'd got to the stage where I felt a change of manager was necessary but cleary this is announced because our board simply cannot afford to sack AM anyway

It's painly obvious and it smacks of Sullivan, Brady and Gold Part Two

And from experience , votes of confidence from the board usually spell the Death Knell

I'll continue to support AM if he remains at Blues , can't deny he is the most successful BCFC manager in more than 50 years (well OK The Moan Brigade can) but I just sense more twists and turns as the summer progresses

Okay, the positives that I'm sure everyone will agree with: The Board haven't dragged their feet on this. They haven't allowed time for press speculation and the rumour mill to undermine the club. They have shown themselves to be strong and decisive. Those players who are here are now in no doubt who their manager will be next year. The manager knows he will be here and can start looking straight away at who he can try and get here. The promotion push can start now.

The negatives: Some fans aren't happy.

On balance, I can live with that.

This is what I'm finding so frustrating, we haven't addressed the serious problems that we have as a team under Eck....lack of attacking play, lowest goal scorers, very few shots on goal or chances. Zero entertainment value hence low attendances. It was the same in the Championship, same in the Premier and I'm sure it will be the same again next year.

He needs to get his head from out the sand, realise that the fans need to see a change in the way we play, and I'm not talking going all Barry Fry but at least start creating chances. He might get us up again playing defensive football but at what cost? 12,000 gates? Another generation of fans lost?

I just totally disagree with you to the point where I'm getting angry inside, Mr.Blue.

How on earth can people have sat through matches in the last 18 months and thought anything other than 'this man is totally clueless', when we had one of the best squads Birmingham City Football Club has ever seen?

This is the worst news for BCFC in a long, long time.

I'm a student. I don't have £350 to waste on watching a pile of rubbish week in week out, just getting angry in the process at the total moronic decision making of the manager.

Either way everyone should be OK with this.

We all know he probably has until xmas where if the team isnt doing well then he will be pushed.

But if he is doing well by then knowone can argue tbh.

Middlesbrough with Strachan must of been feeling optimistic with a new manager and were favourites to win the league last year but that completely failed didn't it.

So its best just to see what happens over the summer and see how we start the campaign.

I think Mcleish will have to change his tactics and knows it.

Maybe Eck will change his ways this season though? He has to, because he knows now we have not been scoring anywhere near enough goals..If we don't he will be out its simple.

We need to add some pace and energy to our midfield and certaintly some spark to the attack, if we do that we will be streets ahead of the rest next season. KRO.

Not me....

Been telling people on here for at least 18 months that McLeish Is useless.....
The cup win didn't make me think any different...

relegated twice In 3.5 years!

You see I'd class myself as a realist as I've known for at least 2/3 months that we would be going down.... We were not Interested In even attempting to attack teams, we just Invited pressure upon ourselves and hoped to nick a point here and there.....

Get Rid now! or you'll regret It.....

My life, how many times....he has spent pushing 30m, the other teams around us have spent 3m or 4m apart from Wolves who spent 12m. It has nothing to do with a lack of investment.

Agreed. The combination of limited funds, a very novice board (in both English football and especially Championship terms) plus a new manager - possibly with limited experience or worse still the 'coup' of an overseas 'name' (e.g I heard Rafa B rumoured!) - could have been disastrous.

A steady ship with McLeish staying on may not be the quick-fix response many may want in the immediate aftermath of such a huge disappointment, but definitely think this will prove to be preferable for the club overall once the dust settles.

O'Neil may be one of the very few prospects that could make me re-consider, but zero chance of that I'd say.

fans boycotting their club and withholding any support just because a manager has not been sacked , :banghead: :banghead: there are a lot of other staff at the club that could possibly loose there job as a result of lost revenue ,and yes a member of my family might be one of them and that's without kicking a football
it is no different to a big firm loosing a big contract it = job losses

its nothing less that a shame the club were minutes away from survival

Gutted, it's like being relegated twice having to stick with him.

Perfect opportunity missed getting someone in like Di Matteo who could have bought some youth, freshness and attacking impetus to the club. Sadly not to be, no doubt McLeish will be trying to break the record for the amount of 1-0 wins ever in a season, allowing Fahey and Jerome to continue masquerading as proffessional footballers.

Dull, negative, boredom...i can barely wait :crying:

For me, this is a total disaster. We will not gain promotion from the Championship setting out to get a point from every game and playing one upfront......just not happening. The likes of Fahey, Bowyer, Jerome and Murphy will be regular starters if they stay and they are just not good enough, not by a long chalk!! Eck only got us promoted by the skin of his teeth last time and he has no Larsson this time either!!

I am lucky enough to able to afford my ST regardless, so purchased it to keep my seat by my mates, but as I live in Yorkshire, I will not be attending our home games as I would rather the short journeys to such exquiste clubs as Donny, Barnsley and Leeds!

Great news well done to the board for firm leadership and those of you who say you are not coming back I bet you couldnt wait for an excuse to say that.

They have only done it because they could not afford the compensation Eck would be entitled to, that and that alone kept Eck in a job.
