So, I woke up this morning still hurting from yesterday. I've got my final exams coming up yet I'm finding it hard to knuckle down and revise. Like all of us I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried for our future... financially and performance wise... Yet despite all of this, the thing that worries me more than the implications of relegation are some of the posts on this forum from my fellow Blues fans... YES, we are all devastated and all have our own opinions on what or who is to blame. YES, some of us see financial doom - lack of money and selling off key players. YES, some of us are incensed with the manager/players/board/key events. BUT We are Blues. We love the Blues. We will fight for and support the Blues through the Joys AND the Sorrows. So what upsets me more than relegation is seeing my fellow fans hold up their hands and effectively saying: "Sod it. Because of A, B and C reasons, I'm not going to go to any games anymore. Or put my money into the club." That hurts more than any poor performance or relegation could. OUR Club NEEDS all the support of the fans it can get in the coming future. OUR Club NEEDS that support whether it's bodies in seats or money in the club shop. I don't see why some of you feel that it's okay to pay out to go to a "boring performance" BUT in the Premier League... But it's not okay if we're now in the Championship. Especially, since it looks like things could be very tight soon... however severe you think the financial implications are. FANS ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF CLUBS. Okay, so we don't play attacking football or we may severely dislike the manager... But... if we all said "I'm not going to go to any "boring" Championship match because of manager/tactics/players"... Well you've just deprived your team, MY TEAM, of a whole bunch of supporters who could have potentially swung that game for them. WE need EVERY FAN we can get, HOME and AWAY, cheering and willing our lads on. Whatever the formation. Whoever the manager. Wherever the league. WE need EVERY FAN to pour money and support into the club if it looks like times are going to be tough. BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT A FAN IS SUPPOSED TO DO! We all have different opinions but we are all UNITED in supporting this Great Club of Birmingham. So, PLEASE don't let any of your opinions get in the way of supporting this club. We need you. The players need you. The team needs you. The club needs you. What happened yesterday could be a blessing in disguise. It could give us the opportunity to reshape and remodel an ageing, injury prone team and reduce the wage budget. It may not. But don't be fooled into thinking that we don't affect that. It's not just a manager or tactics that affect a team's performance or a board or owner who affect their finances. We as fans have the biggest influence on what our club can achieve. For all we know, we could keep hold of key players we fear may go. We could take the league by storm. Serving up attacking football week in week out. We could be financially sound. Or we could be none of those things. We don't know. But don't let that affect your support of the club! I hope to see you next season. Regardless of the League. Team. Manager. Board. or Tactics. KEEP RIGHT ON. |

We're all True Blue mate it just that we have different options, fall into different camps and sometimes violently disagree. As long as there's a BCFC I will support it just so long as there's a Union Jack, I'll salute it. Doesn't mean like the govt. or the cabint though! |

What a load of old clap-trap. McLeish is tactically limited and is boring and negative I ain't going to suffer the dross he has served up for over 3 years. If the club wants the support then sack him. It's that easy, or is it? I and many others are having to suffer/boycott this dross because the Board made a tragic mistake of extending his contract and now they can't afford to sack him. Well tough titty.............it's not for me and I suspect thousands of others. |

I completely agree mate. But that's my point - as you've said you would salute the Union Jack regardless of any disputes you may have, as would I, but some on here are saying because of their views they are going to withhold their support from our club. That's not right. |

Looking at that hurts my brain  too much underline and bold, but the sentiments are right. Now is the time to get behind the team and support them up the championship. I sense people are using it as an excuse to stop going. We have some fans who are fickle, and some who will fight through thick and thin, will support the club whether its against United Villa or Rochdale it's the same at every club |

I have had to endure a full shift with a spurs fan today and in his words the blues support yesterday was magnificent. He did however point out that we didn't try to win the game and therefore can't complain about not getting anything from the game. |

Mate for all you know I agree with you about McLeish or I may not. But regardless of what I may feel about that situation the fact is we are not or cannot afford to replace the manager. So we have what we have. I'm sorry you have had to sit through un-enjoyable football but please keep supporting even if that's the case. If we're short on money then we need all the support and attendances we can get - if we want to help our board out. And if the team is lacking ability wise then we need all the morale support we can get cheering them on. It's a long road with joys and sorrows, but we still march on. |

Sorry I'll try to edit it so it looks better! Thanks mate. I'm just more worried if we had an exodus of fans more than I ever am about the finances, incumbent manager or play we serve up. It has worse implications. |

Completely agree. Our away support is arguably one of the best in the country. And we didn't try to win the game either so in that respect we got what we got. But I don't want us to become a team with fans that just chose to turn up only if we're in the top league or playing "nice" football. We're better than that. We support Blues whatever the circumstance. |

I'll admitt that after the fulham game I had us relegated, and to be honest I muttered the words "I'm not getting my season ticket next season, I'm going to pick and choose the games" I've been going regulary to home games since 86 and between 95 - 2006 regulary to away games (i now pick and choose about 5/6 a season due to finances) The thought of watching negative football for another season fills me with dread... however by 6am this morning I was making plans to get the ground tomorrow or wednesday and buy my season ticket again... I started to think that we can use this experience to have a bit of a clear out and blood the youth. I really hop big eck takes this opportunity to bring in mutch, redmond and a couple of the others, whilst once again snapping up the best of the championship and league 1 players, whilst keping hold of a cople with experience to build something refreshing and entertaining to watch! |

And that's exactly what I'm asking/was hoping for :). Thanks Jassy. I'm an unlucky one - my family moved away from Birmingham when I was ten and I'm now at Uni in Liverpool so I find it very hard to find the time or money to go to games but when I can I do. Which is why it hurts me to hear of fans who have much more of an opportunity than I have giving it up. I would love to be in their position. |
