I'd just like to know ...

How many of those on here that say they prefer The Championship, would have honestly put their hand on their heart and said that last Sunday at 4 pm.

Part of me at certain points during the season has wanted to be in the championship however non benificial to the club it would be, we should get to see some young talent coming through from the club and in transfers, we should also be winning a lot more and scoring more.

why not just go directly to the blue square, plenty wins and goals there too surely??? But will we keep Zigic??

Hic hic :lager: blooooooozuuuurrrrgghhhh

Don't want to see Zigic here, honestly. We lack a dangerous front pair with him, he's impossible to partner, he will only score from a header or fluke, we need a good front pairing, I wouldn't mind Asante and Jerome as long as they get a good run of games together without any of them getting injuries.

Oooo yeah I see why, his goals, assists and match winning performances...

O wait that's zigic.

Don't you think there's a reason why a fully fit Jerome was on the bench that glorious day at wembley??

The guys not scoring now and wont score next season, if any one wants him for a million plus snap there hand off and I'll personally drive him up, maybe I can give him a few tips on the journey.

As harsh as it sounds, I agree with this. 3 goals in 33 Premiership matches says it all. In the future this will be a standard pub quiz based joke: 'Which Birmingham player scored a Premiership hatrick in the 2010/11 season? Answer: CJ but it took him all season.
It's in his and our best interest that he moves on.

Sorry guys, but personally I DON’T prefer life in the Championship. I was born in the mid-80s and therefore grew up never knowing what it was like to support a top-fight team. As a result even now watching Blues play in the Premier League feels special and I do feel a sense of pride at seeing our name on the fixture list alongside the likes of Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. Plus the Premier League generally offers a better standard of football (although usually from the opposition not from Blues unfortunately), more prestige, more revenue, bigger crowds, more exposure for the club etc.

I wouldn’t want to give that up on the assumption that we’re better off in a lower division because we may win more matches. If this club has any ambition to better itself then sooner or later we’ve got to establish ourselves in the top fight. And if that means we have to accept a few years of relegation battles and doing what it takes to survive in order that we may emerge stronger on the other side then so be it. After all it’s what Fulham and Bolton have done so there should be no reason why we can’t. Yo-yoing may mean life is never dull but it certainly does nothing to help the long-term stability of the club.

Also, saying the Championship is more fun surely depends on the fortunes of the team while playing in it. We've been lucky that our last three seasons at that level have ended in promotion, so naturally we've got positive memories of our time there. But suppose we have a bad season or two and inadvertently 'establish' ourselves as a lower league club again. Would we be happy if we became the next Coventry and spent a decade in the second tier without ever really looking like achieving promotion? There's no denying it's a possibility, just look at the number of clubs who were relegated and never made it back (Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton etc.) I would be heartbroken if Blues joined that list so I say to everyone who is happy we're in this division...BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

Good honest post **thumbup

... and, as if we needed it, this is just one more differing opinion on this board.

To me, a midweek night game means leaving work early, driving a round trip of over 150 miles (let alone the petrol costs) and getting home at midnight-ish, having to be up for work next morning. Not good for an old git.

So, one of the reasons I won't be renewing my ST - can I be excused please Sir ?

Weve missed a real opportunity to kick on (AGAIN).I recall sitting in the kop the last time we where in the Championship and beating Barnsley 2-0.But the ground was a barely half full and the atmosphere was dreadful.I spent nearly 20 minutes of te 2nd half reading my programme AND left early.

OHHH GOD

I think we have all forgotten the genral dross on offer in the Championship , Served up by us - last time under Mcleish - although we got promoted the football at times was dreadful

Also under Bruce i think the Last Championship campaign was a grind

I hate the Championship - i hate the fact that there will probabaly two teams uncapable of playing any decent football on the pitch ....instead of just us  :)

Season ticket is renewed , but with a fixture list showing Doncaster Burnley Barnsley visiting us - well i cannot lie , it does NOT excite me

The best cure for a relegation hangover is seeing us top of the table after week 1. Trust me.

Your right but, I don't think we will be at the top, best bet to hold a safe place.
