has told talkSPORT he fears for Birmingham’s future following relegation from the Premier League.
The Blues failed to beat the drop after picking up just four points from their last seven league games, including a heartbreaking last-minute defeat to Tottenham on the final day of the season.
And Phillips is worried that there may be an exodus of top class players from the club this summer as many of the senior players in the side want to continue playing top-flight football.

Part of me fears that they could lose eight or nine players. There could be up to ten players leaving the club.

Kevin Phillips
He told Drive Time: “A part of me fears for Birmingham because there is a lot of players in that dressing room of a certain age, 28 or 29, who want to stay in the Premier League. It’s only natural, so part of me fears that they could lose eight or nine players. There could be up to ten players leaving the club.
“And it’s whether they can replace them with the quality that’s going to get them back into the Premier League because of the young players coming through at Birmingham I don’t see an awful lot there. There is maybe two, three or four [that could make it]. The players getting produced there is not great. :(

He sounds a bitter man to be honest & if im honest the further away from our dressing room the better the way his attitude is when he is not playing. At the start of the season when Zigic was adjusting to life here on sky he was asked a question on how good he is & if he compares to crouch, his reply very degrading to a team mate. Eck talked numerous times about him not being himself & now the day after we get relegated he says he fears for us and tells the world most of our older players want to leave. Thanks for the memories kev now keep your mouth shut!!!!

Gord they really painted a bleak picture, similar to what I've said none of the out of contract players will stay, and our best or better players sold with little money to replace them.

Why on earth wouldn't Kev be offered a new contract?
