I hope the club are not thinking of bringing to many youth players into teh squad to make up for the players going..as Phillips has said “And it’s whether they can replace them with the quality that’s going to get them back into the Premier League because of the young players coming through at Birmingham I don’t see an awful lot there. There is maybe two, three or four [that could make it]. The players getting produced there is not great. If Kev does not rate them how can the manager? |

Mallam mate, I love your effort I really do but your sheer volume of threads is boring me. This has been touched upon in another thread already. Suggestion: When you sign in, read around, see what fellow posters are saying then add to debates that are already ongoing which with your threads, they always are **thumbup As for Phillips, there's a clear reason why he is going in to punditry after his playing days are over, I wouldn't give the opinion a man who is clearly bitter about not playing much over 2/3 seasons much credibility. Especially KP. Ask Watford what they though of Mutch. |

Well how many do we actually need to come good next season? AMc will be in charge so i imagine he'll be going about promotion in a similar manner as the last time... Experience heads mixed with some younger loans and/or buys. As for the younger players... Mutch has already been a regular in the Championship and acquitted himself quite well indeed. Asante hasn't had the opportunity, so there is of course questions, but if his exploits in the reserves and u-18's is anything to go by, he may be very useful for Blues next season. Redmond is only young and a bit lightweight, but he's an undoubted talent, and should at least be able to be an impact player for Blues in the Championship (if not more). Butland spent most of the past season injured, but now back, he'll at least be able to man the 3rd keeper spot. Perhaps a couple from Kerr, Ozturk, Hutchinson, Shroot, O'Shea, Valles, Jervis, Hubbins, etc. can contribute something as well. Spooner, Beale, and AMc will know far better than Super Kev. |
