Jerome, Zigic, Phillips, Derbyshire. Not good enough, with this lot as a stike force we was always gona struggle, wouldn`t want this lot even in the championship. |

Well you're wrong... When they were all available Blues were safe. Zigic had finally come to grips with the physicality of the league, was scaring defences, and scoring goals. Injury robbed him of a double digit haul. |

Zigic is a joke mate. A pathetic joke of a footballer. We paid 6 mill for him, how much do you think we`d get for him, even if someone even wanted him, same goes for Jerome. |

Zigic has done nothing wrong. He was scoring some vital goal and was in form then he got injured!!!! He would have kept us up if he was fit. KRO!!!! |

Slogger, As compelling as your argument may be, I'm going to continue to disagree with your assessment of him, and refer you back to my original points as my reasons why. **thumbup |

I agree, Being optimistic we wouldnt get £4 million for him. A very poor piece of business tbh. Who knows how we would have done had he been fit. I doubt he would of kept us up. He'll be gone along with phillips and obviously derbyshire and martins. That leaves us with Cameron Jerome who to me looks like he doesnt want to be here, I think he knows most fans think he is cr@p. We will need to buy atleast 2 or 3 strikers I think. |

We have to stop talking rubbish about players like Zigic and Jerome. Zigic was completely hopeless, and people say "oh he has to get used to the prem" Rubbish, getting used to the league still doesn`t mean you can`t trap a ball, or win a friging header when your 6"5in, its a joke. Same for Jerome, people ponse about sayin "oh he tries really hard, he runs his heart out" so what i expect every player we have got to do that, its a givin that they should be trying, he`s useless, plane and simple. If we want a bloke who will run around for 90 min i`m sure Steve Cram would do it. We`ve gotta stop making excuses for em. I dont want Mcleish to go if i`m honest, BUT when he plays one up front at home against Wigin i dont think that is acceptable, espiecially when that one is Jerome. Next season we should be the big boys in that league, if i see Mcleish changing the side because of the opposition i`ll be well peed off. Play our strongest side, go for it and score some goals, let everybody else worry about us. |

Before he got injured he got 4 goals in 5 games. Against Arsenal, Man City, Stoke and West Ham. We also kept 2 clean sheets in those 5 games; we have seen 0 clean sheets and few goals since. Dont tell me Zigic wasn't a VITAL part of our team @Slogger; before he got injured Zigic was winning every header, he had learned how to jump and handle defenders and he was getting better on the ground. |

He had learned how to jump, you just summed it up mate. Unbelievable. And we paid 6mill for that. |

Ha Ha learned how to jump. I didnt rate him and will be glad when he goes. He is only going to get worse and even less mobile than he already was. Best to look to the future now by hopefully signing some younger more able strikers and see where it takes us. |

In spain, he didn't need to jump, the defenders would let him win headers and try to defend the flick ons. When he came to England everything changed; defenders are far stronger and more determined to win the ball, when he came he got pushed around and jumped all over by defenders. He had to change the way he played, and did so. You CANNOT say that Zigic did not fundamentally improve massively over the season. He produced a MOTM performance against West Ham in the CC and didn't look back. 4 goals in 5 games, that more than Cameron ******* Jerome got all season. 3 more than Kevin "2 years past it" Phillips and 4 more than Derbyshite. Zigic would have kept us up. Not only did he have goals, but he had a release ball, the midfield and defence knew what to do and how to attack when he was on the pitch. You are either blind or just completely ignorant to the fact that ever since we lost Zigic we have not known how to attack. Our only tactics have been to try and scramble a lucky goal, score from a set piece or hope gardner gets another screamer. With Zigic in our team we would have finished mid-table, and the 6 million would have looked an absolute bargain |

A young attacking team would rip that league apart next year, not jokers like Zigic. |

As I've said before the way some "supporters" on this site talk about members of our present squad any potential signings would not come within 100 miles of SA!! |

What Slogger forgets is we have to pay £6m where other Prem clubs would pay £4m. We are not a fashionable club and find it hard to attract big name players. |

Zigic wasn`t a big name signing, nobody had heard of him, sighnings like him are whats wrong with prem football, i dont care what anybody says, if we have properly scouted the lower league`s i am absolutely sure there would be someone who could do just as good a job as Zigic did for a fraction of the cost. Ask Roger Johnson what he thinks of Zigic, and i`m sure the rest of the squad feel the same. Get real and stop trying to be all pc. |

Nobody had heard of him?!?! :LMAO: YOU may have never heard of him, but those who keep up with leagues beyond the Premier League certainly had. Valencia payed over £14m in 2007 for him i believe, and he'd scored 13 goals in 19 matches for Racing Santander. He's still a Red Star legend, and for what he did in the carling cup (knocked out the vile and then scored the opener in the final) he's a Blues legend as well. I can't say with any certainty what would have happened had he not been injured and out the remainder of the season following the carling cup final, but I believe he was well on his way to a double digit goal tally, and in my opinion staying up would have been the result. We just disagree on this one, and that's all right. **thumbup |

Zigic scored a goal in the cup final, completely changed the game in our favour in the semi when we were dead and buried, and in the quarters he scored against the villa. That alone was worth £6m! |
