Having read through various arguments, counter arguments, pro and against management, board and everything. I think the board and the management really need to sit down and have a serious inquest on what went wrong and where we head forward as a club. Unless we learn from our mistakes and try and improve them we will always be a yo yo to club. Things such as.....

*Youth system: lack of decent young players coming though the ranks.

*Style of play: Lack of goals, lack of shots on target and depressing non-entertaining football.

* Transfer policy: Where did it go wrong with the money spent, why didn't we get the players needed. Why were the players we got so poor. Was it the scouting system?

*Injuries: Why so many injuries at the club, which has been happening for years.

*Coaching: Do we have the right coaching staff?

*Next generation: Of fans how do we get bums on seats, not just for now the future.

I think it's obvious to all and sundry that the reason we went down (amongst others, because it's never as simple as a single reason) is lack of goals, and the manor reason for lack of goals was a total lack of pace in the team, both from a player aspect, but also in the manner in which we play.

It is the major issue that the manager and the board need to solve this summer, and as well as looking at players, I think it would be invaluable to look at a decent attacking coach to improve that side of our game. We showed we could attack with thrust and pace sparingly this season, but nowhere near as often as we should've done. The players can do it, they just need the confidence, the license and the support from a few new faces to do so.

That is exactly how I see it. You put it perfectly.

Let us hope that the on were and Big Eck see it that way too. ,I am sure they are both devastated right now.

We never seem to do it though, we paper over the cracks and there needs to be clean sweep and just keep the parts that are defiantly working.

This is exactly what's needed.

From the outside looking in I would say the following:

Youth system needs to be completely overhauled new coaches if needed but certainly a more aggressive approach to poaching other clubs best youth players.

Style of play will only improve if we get attacking coaches in to help mcleish to improve this side of his game plan.

Transfer policy for me went wrong because we were targeting players that were still beyond our grasp according to where we were in terms of progression in establishing ourselves in the prem. If we had targeted players from the championship for instance we wouldn't have being struggling on the last day to complete deals. Scouting either needs improving or the person that is responsible for taking action needs to go. E.g didn't we have the chance to sign charlie adam and didn't long before blackpool?

Finally getting bums on seats from the new generation of potential blues fans should be done like always with kids for a quid for all games where we will struggle to fill. Go to schools and run free coaching sessions and weekends all over the west mids.

I hope they give a thorough investigation into the relegation and the findings whatever they are, are learnt from.

Our biggest problem was a lack of goals and the way we play.
Kick and run football is gone.
You have to have a contolled midfield with speed on the wings.
No point in hoofing it up the field in the the hope a single forward surrounded by four defenders gets the ball.

Well Paul Montgomery has gone, so if the Mirror story is correct I can understand that decision. It all depends on what is put in place to replace him, we need a world wide scouting network. I think what people seem to forget is that Yeung has surrounded himself with footballing people, I hope he takes their advise on future plans to make us a better club.

I can see your point, but Karembeu was a scout for Portsmouth and Arsenal, even though he is no longer on the board of BIH he probably is still a contact. Sammy Yu as much as he mucked up the pre-season is well known in the game as is Macca. I'm not saying get them in to sort the club out, but people to bend the ear of and get some opinion.
