I read a newspaper article today stating that the board were exerting pressure on McLeish and he may well land up at West Ham.

I dont know how true it is certainly the board have set expatations of promotion which is good. I certainly hope McLeish goes further and wins it.
But first and foremost no one can really do a good job looking over his shoulder.

I do not believe McLeish or Birmingham City let down the supporters this year.

I feel on the whole they all did the best job they could given the challenges they faced at the time. Somethings succeeded others didnt work as well as hoped for.

It's strange how people take things for granted so quickly.

How long did we crave actually going to wembley and succeeding in winning a trophy. It was the dream we all wanted and we did it with McLeish. I read an article saying Gardner would swap his medal for staying in the premier league.
I felt like throttling him. Birmingham City's name is on that cup. In 100 years time when we are all dead and buried the record will show we went to wembley and won that trophy in 2011.

I appreciate regarding the ambitions of the club we wanted to stay up. At the end of the day we came 18th in the tightest league competition their could possibly have been.

Winning a cup at wembley for the first time in 136 years feels like making progress.

Quarter finals of the FA cup.

A fantastically committed side playing with broken ribs, injections.

The side were distraught when Pav's goal went in.

We didnt quite manage enough up front mainly through lack of fitness. I dont feel let down by Birmingham City. Rather I accept this is the standard where we are as club. We may not be premier league but we have proved we can go all the way and win a trophy. I have really enjoyed this season. There will be some changes required to accomodate a championship season rather than a premiership one.

I honestly feel really proud of our club right now. Let us not be cowered by this set back. Instead we should look how to improve our standards and set out to win the championship.

Keep Right On

No they didn't, im sorry but them last 6 games (especially Fulham) was not 'their best'.

Plus, i believe the manager didnt do the best job he could because it's his fault we were sooo negative, it was as if we played for the draw in most games. Most the time we only started to play when we were losing.

Yes the cup was great and all that but as all the players surely feel too, the premier league is where everyone wants to be. Just for simple reasons such as financially it allows the club to create a better future and work towards winning more cups and qualifying for europe.

IF we'd stayed up (with european football next season) we would of had the greatest opportunity since we've been in the PL to become more established and stay for as long as Everton or even Fulham have. Because we would been able to attract higher calibre players helping us to put together the best team we've ever had at blues.

A HUGE opportunity lost im afraid so forgive me for feeling completely let down and disappointed with Mcleish's and the teams efforts. It wasnt like we knew they 'might not' have the ability to stay up because we finished 9th last season and that proved they did.

Its happened so many times at Blues ,in the league,
So close but so far away, how many times have we seen it happen whwen we needed that final push,we fall short,
Since the Carling Cup the players have been dining out on that win,we should have told the players all celebrations are on hold until we are safe,
For me thats where the Manager and astaff fell short, there was no motivation in most of those games,
the bit that shows the good from the bad,
I have said it a hundred times ,
Good managers watch a game and expect things to go right,
Great managers watch games and change things to make sure things go right,
Thats my biggest gripe with Alex ,He waits and waits then its to late.
