rickie lambert big powerfull striker worth a look imo would score goals in the championship and a decent partner to jerome would't cost that much 2mill max.

Wouldn't Southampton be looking to keep hold of him?

I do actually. Or at least two of three.

You're right though, every player has a fee. I was just trying to consider the fact that he's Southampton's main goalscorer, helped win them promotion to the same league Blues will be playing in, would be a massive blow to lose him to a rival, and would make their survival in the league next season that much more difficult.

I'd be happy for Blues to sign him though. **thumbup

i do agree with you aswell why would southampton want to lose him but having played in the lower leagues he is relavity unknown and we need a player who gets goals i feel even at southampton he will score 15-20 next year.

two other players i like are steve morison at millwall and danny graham at watford but having proven records in the championship would cost more than lambert.

This will be his first go at the Championship, yeah? It will present a different and difficult challenge, but I believe he'll adapt.

Morison and Graham are both good shouts. I mentioned Graham previously, but there's going to be quite a bit of interest in him I'm afraid. QPR have already had a reported £2.5m bid rejected at the weekend...

He's scored goals for fun, and a saints mate of mine raves about him. 3 million bid would get him, only down side is he's 29 and my mate probably wouldn't speak so me for a month if we signed him!

Not sure if he is the type of player we should be targeting due to his age. Could be an option but I would rather sign Mackail-Smith.

Ricky Lambert - in the Geoff Horsfield mould. Totally underrated but a powerhouse upfront.

Would love to see him in a Blues shirt.
