Away from club matters, looking forward to July 16th when Frankie Gavin Fights Curtis Woodhouse. Bad blood between them both makes for a cracking fight. I think if it goes all the way Frankie Gavin will win on points, however I have followed all Curtis Woodhouse fights and he is capable of that one good punch, so the only chance he has of winning is knocking Frankie out, who states he will retire if Woodhouse beats him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-dXV70ZsdY |

Gavin is an immense talent and potentially a world class boxer, Woodhouse is a scrapper who is trying his hand at boxing, hence Gavin saying he would retire if he lost. |

I'd be interested in a Blues Fan v An Ex- Blues Manager contest provided the fan was huge, savage and psychopathic. |

I like frankie, but wasn't impressed by his attitude here.. too cocky for me. There's no doubt he's far superior to woodhouse ability wise.. but a fight is a fight, it only takes one punch |

I wonder if Mr C Gardner will be sitting ringside as plenty of our more "vociferous" support will be there watching. |

Bump. Hear on TalkSport earlier, that Woodhouse was quoted 80-1 but didnt catch the bookmaker :banghead: went into a couple of high street bookies who were quoting only 50-1 lol |

Was a split decision I heard. I also heard that Frankie had problems with the weight? Apparently CW wanted to fight at 10 stone, and FG put it up to 10'4 and then couldn't make that weight and put it up to 10'6 or so, if thats true, wake up Frankie! It shouldn't be hard for a world class fighter to cut weight, which is what you want to be right? Look at the Elite, none of them fail to make weight. Would be interesting to hear feedback as I didn't see the fight! |

I'll be honest, and say Im not really into boxing and don't know much about the divisions, belts and weights etc, but again, on TalkSport, the expert talking said Gavin was a gold medal prospect but failed to make the weight, which caused a lot of dismay. In sayig that though, does bring it home was a disciplined sport this is though. Got to eat that but not not that, etc. I mean 10 stone, I can't believe it. You would have thought Woodhouse would have got blown over at that weight, trying to play football. I would have been mighty racked off had CW won as I couldn't find the site offering those odds. |

Gavin could be a great boxer but from day one he cant handle the life style,Far to lazy and puts him belly ahead of been a great fighter quit now and get a day job.Woodhouse looked like a boxer who played football as a hobby. |

There's nothing that annoys promoters more than someone who can't make weight. That's a surefire way to lose friends in the game fast. |

Gavin is an immense talent BUT he needs to wake up and start taking the sport seriously At Welterweight he has no punch , he needs to drop a weigh and take on the world Wake up Frankie ! |

Re: the last two posts - that's exactly what this boxing expert (didnt catch his name) said on TalkSport. Said he could have been a gold medal prospect but didnt make the weight and so peeved off an awful lot of people in the process. So what does this say for the future of CW in boxing? Is he too old now to make further strides? Got to hand it to him, did well to go to a split decision, especially as he went into the profession late. |
