Has anybody actually wondered whether it might just be the light in the photo causing the kit to look lighter than it actually is?

No, I doubt it, people have - of course - just seen it as a quick and easy route to yet another pop at the board/club.

Wayne Cowan has confirmed on twitter that it is indeed a light blue shade.

:LMAO:

Not actually royal blue then ?

he actually said, its a lighter shade of blue, but sill royal blue

No, Royal Blue is a shade of blue. You can't have a lighter shade of Royal Blue, otherwise it ceases to become our colour.

For someone that has LOYAL in their username, you don't half bloody moan.

and.......?
Your posts are about what exactly..Its a forum about opinion and counter opinion, shared views and maybe some common ground every now and again.I come on here to read and post occasionally and vent a little where i see fit. Most dont even respond to my posts which is fine by me as i dont seek attention,im just venting. As for Loyal well i guess you would have to know me to judge how relevant that is.

But is venting and moaning about the particular shade of blue on the kit going to actually change anything? Can't you just say you're not keen on the colour, but stop the moan there, moving on to say that because they're Birmingham shirts you love them and will support all who wear them?

We've played in every shade of blue there is over the years.

This truely is the most pathetic thing to be getting your knickers in a twist over.

i will be sat in my seat watching the team as i always have and always will, supporting the club NO matter what as i said you have to know me to know how LOYAL i am.

Im venting at the club statement that accompanies the release of the kit....and the final kit selection for me personally shows that whoever was consulted in the design and final selection of these kits knows very little about Birmingham City Football Club.

Okay, well next time you're singing Keep Right On, you can sing 'for the boys in every shade of blue'. Sounds like something out of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

I can't help but think that some on here would have slit their wrists if we'd have gone with our 1889-1890 historical kit.

From 1926 we've played in Royal Blue. The other shades were when we were Small Heath. The colour is in the Birmingham City anthem for goodness sake.

But anyway, I'm sounding like a broken record. I know a lot of Blues fans, who are proud of supporting the boys in Royal Blue, feel the same.

To everyone's benefit, that's my last word on it!

you could look at each of those kits and then put next to each one how we afred that season...there may be some relation to a rubbish kit and a rubbish performance.

i wont be slitting my wrists over this or anything else for that matter

The club statement is flawed when looking at the kit..and makes a mockery of the processes used to select it.

No we havent.

We weren't in royal blue in 1992-93, nor from 2003-07.

So it's not as if there isn't recent precident for a differet colour blue.

Look, I'm not overly keen on it either, but the vitriol being levelled at it and at the club is way out of proportion.

The royal blue will be back in another season.

Personally, I'd like a return to the yellow away kit, but I'm not gonna expend my energy wailing about it is if it were a personal slight against me.

Like the home kit and to be honest id take it without any sponsors name also. I like football kits and am in truth only want to see the kit with the blues badge on it and maybe a name and number on the back.

but yes thumbs up for me **thumbup

kro and continue the clear out...and bring in a new fresh start, any player whoever wants out then GO. I fancy this change and for gods sake a new start.

I love the kits.

I hope the home is more royal blue
I think the away kit was designed with Europe in mind.

I have one slight worry.........I just hope our sponsor will have a good logo like F&C was.

I'm not really Bothered what the kits look like, for me adults wearing replica shirts look stupid irrelevent of the design. I'll buy the home one for my son, probably have ROONEY printed on the back for a laugh.

As it goes i think they're both pretty poor, the colour on the first is so pale we're almost Coventry and neck is weird (any fat bloke with moobs is going to look horrific in that) the away one is ok i guess just a bit 'meh' nothing special but it'll do.

Looks Royal Blue to me. If you go to the pre-order online bit, the images there are darker blue, so think the initial image on home page is not reflective of the kits actual proper shade, as opposed to this in the shop Posted Image

How many different shades of Bue have we played In during the last 10 years?

The Lonsdale kit's were not Royal Blue to the best of my knowledge.

Throughout our history we've played In other shades of Blue on many occasions. But come on! There ss a lot more to be concerned about atm that the shade or the Blue on the kit!
