Looks Royal Blue to me. If you go to the pre-order online bit, the images there are darker blue, so think the initial image on home page is not reflective of the kits actual proper shade, as opposed to this in the shop Posted Image

Looks a better blue on the online store! Still a bit wishy washy, but hey, I do like the design. Will look good with a nice sponsor.

Yep looks loads better. KRO!!!!

Agreed.

The blue could do with being a deeper shade for me (like Leicester and Porstmouth's) and white shorts too...

But still the design is loads better than last season's debacle. **thumbup

just remember to check size before buying as they sized them wrong again.a small size will fit a medium person in umbro sizes etc
38-40 small
40-42 medium etc

They said they had sorted the sizing issues for this years kit

Now THAT looks Royal Blue.

I wonder if some people will be feeling a tiiiiiiny bit silly come release day?

wont be feeling silly at all
Use the words Royal Blue and displaying an image of a shirt that clearly isnt now thats a bit silly..

So we get two weeks of sneak preview and then finally an image of the shirt that doesnt represent the actual colour...sounds like clever to me

I'd buy that without a sponsor on, but with it on, not sure...

Quite nice.

We'll definitely need a 3rd kit of a differing colour though, can't see this being used much against teams in blue.

HERE THEY ARE...

http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0...2384494,00.html

Following our 'strip tease' recently we can exclusively bring you the all-new Blues home and away kits for the 2011-12 season (click here for a larger version), which are available to pre-order now.

What's more Birmingham City has once again shown it is a 'proper club', to coin the words of new manager Chris Hughton, by taking on board the views of everyone connected with the club in coming up with the exciting new designs.

Supporters' opinions were gauged with regards to the home strip and the overwhelming response was that you, our loyal followers, want a kit that is all royal blue.

The playing squad were shown various designs for the away strip and they opted for this charcoal and blue striped number.

Having had the cheapest shirts in the Barclays Premier League last year there is a slight increase this year to reflect increased production costs and VAT but prices are very much in line with other clubs.

Adult short-sleeved shirts are £40 and juniors £30. Infant mini-kits will be available for £32.

However the great news is that supporters who pre-order or purchase in the first two weeks of sales will be able to buy at last season's prices of £35 for adult short-sleeved shirts, £27 juniors and £30 infant mini-kits.

Options with regards to potential shirt sponsors are still under consideration so exact dates of sale will be confirmed here at bcfc.com as soon as possible, but kit can be pre-ordered now by clicking here.

An added advantage of booking on-line is that there is an option for supporters ordering on the web to save postage costs by, if it is suitable, arranging a collection from the Blues Superstore (once the kit is in stock).

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I personally like the new kits but for ffs, do not people think we've got more pressing concerns at the moment than what shade of blue the home shirt is

yes quite possibly, but those are being debated on other threads..this one is about the kit..so if you want to discuss the other more pressing concerns go on one of those

The kits could be very importantfor us this season

last season i didnt buy a shirt because I didnt like any of em. This year there is a lot of positive feedback. It is reasonable to think the more peoplelike the shirt, the more will buy it, the money money the club gets - after losing prem funding it is important we open or increase exisiting reveue schemes as much as possible.

Spot on

I do think that the club have got in to the habit of putting any old tat out and keeping their fingers crossed. This now looks like a 'real' Birmingham City kit and while I'm too old to be wearing football shirts I will be buying that for my daughter.

the away shirt looks like a real shirt not something someone knocked upon facepaint or whatever its called. It could even pass (minus the 3 stripes) as an adidas style shirt.
