Yeh this is an old kit we had?.....

It could easily be used as a 3rd kit.

:blues:

I think the 3rd kit will be the old German coloured kit. KRO!!!!

Since the 1960s it has become cheaper and more economical to mass-produce shirts, ties, trousers whatever in lighter tones.

Sorry but the dying of lighter tones is no less a cost than dark tones, :copno: totally untrue.

Yeah exactly, black socks are very cheap and they're dyed black!

From 1926 we've played in Royal Blue. The other shades were when we were Small Heath. The colour is in the Birmingham City anthem for goodness sake.

But anyway, I'm sounding like a broken record. I know a lot of Blues fans, who are proud of supporting the boys in Royal Blue, feel the same.

To everyone's benefit, that's my last word on it!

Hopefully.

It seems to me that your main interests in Blues are peripheral and without a great deal of substance will.

Mainly about style. Website design or the kit design.

We are a club mate. We hold a variety of opinions.

Sarcasm and ridicule of other people's opinions does not win support nor arguments.

Let's talk about singing "...for the boys in Royal Blue..."

Do you know when we started singing that ?
Of course not. :LMAO:

It wasn't in 1926 was it? As you allude, by mistake or arrogance.

It wasn't in 1948 was it ?

1956? No.

Tell us mate, when did we start to sing "...for the boys in Royal blue...?"

It's a shame that your degree you are studying for is not textiles. If it was you would realise the economic aspects of mass-production.

Years past it was easier and cheaper, under old methods of dyeing to produce darker colours. Look at Kelmscott and William Morris. **thumbup

(PM me and I'll give you the ref.)

Since the 1960s it has become cheaper and more economical to mass-produce shirts, ties, trousers whatever in lighter tones.

All your rampaging and arrogance is based on a personal taste.
Without any regard to --WHY? Why this shade and not another.

IGNORANCE mate. Your ignorance. Once more.

And unfortunately mate, you have shown little respect for other people's opinion.

That is normal with you.

**thumbup

Once again, all I can say is that you are a very strange person with some sort of sadistic obsession toward me. You seem to be following me around the forum making inappropriate, unprovoked and unnecessary posts, rambling on about seemingly nothing but your hatred for me. Where I'm from, that's called creepy behaviour.

Of course I know Keep Right On was adopted in 1956 from Harry Lauder's version. As I said - as much as you may want to try and belittle me - I'm not ignorant about our club's history. Considering we're living in 2011 and not pre-1955 (though you may be...not sure what time period you crawled out of), it's definitely a valid point to say we are the Boys in Royal Blue.

Whilst I find your weird tirades amusing, they're getting a bit boring now. So you might like to move your attention on to some other unsuspecting forum member that will roll over and take your utter nonsense to heart. I'm sure that'd please you.

..zz..

For all those arguing that the shirt is not Royal Blue, I searched for "colour chart royal blue" and found the following web site:

Colour Chart

If you scroll down to the blue colours, you will find Royal Blue and to me it is exactly how they've got it on the new shirt.

So.....we can still sing "For the Boys in Royal Blue"!!!!

Phew, glad that's sorted.

..zz..

mm.. sorted in as much as thats the 'web safe' royal blue #4169e1
the whole concept of web safe colour is arguably dead on its feet anyway.. so sorry the debate remains lol :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_blue

The traditional royal blue is almost navy and the web version is quite bright. This proves the point that no one can claim to be right but the new shirt definitely falls within the range of royal blue as there are many variations of it. I'm boring myself now.

Whilst we know we'd get much better design and material quality from an Adidas, Umbro or Nike - I'm still going to reserve my judgment until I see the bloody thing in the club shop!

Yeah - but one last moan before I go to bed (can't resist) - I shouldn't still have to be reserving my judgment to see it in the club shop if the kit release on bcfc.com was any good. I hate saying it, but Villa fans had a pick of 8 really well produced images of their kit and they could see from multiple angles the exact colour, fit, quality etc. That's how to conduct a kit release and unfortunately we get schooled in that every year.

Time for bed ..zz..

Spot on,

The Umbro kits were not bad, they had a design to them and they looked decent quality too.

But since then its been horrible, From the stupid teaser pictures and late release dates to the actual shirts which look cheap and poorly designed.

Last years kit was great quality and great design for me.

Everybody complains and asks for a standard plain royal blue kit with no white rubbish, we get that and then moan that it is a plain shirt with a badge stuck on by a 5 year old..

Well I really like the new home shirt, have pre-ordered one for my son.

Trouble is, we've had to leave off a name and number for now as we don't know who will be here come the start of the season :ph43r: .

Can't see the sense in having any player's name on the shirt. Best to put your own sur-name on at least then you have a name of someone loyal to the club :applause:
